Two episodes to be delayed in the U.S. due to Memorial Day

More frustrating from a Canadian perspective - because of the US delay we've got to wait an extra week as well for no reason at all...

Damn, I missed that one.

Then again, it has been raining a lot, so I think that's why my mind first went for the literal.

And I'm still technically a moderator :p

Wait, what? Isn't episode 5 the first of a two-parter? So they'll be showing part one, and then part two won't be shown for three more weeks (with two Saturdays between them)? What kind of sense does that make?
Nah, tomorrow is May 21, we get ep 5. Next Sat, we get nuttin' May 28, but, then the following Saturday June 4, we get ep 6, so, we only miss one Saturday and only wait 2 weeks for the second part.

And if the forecast holds, sounds like we're due for a torrential downpour this Memorial Day. :(

Bah, it's my birthday weekend :(

No, no, he's being clever! You see ...

Oh wait, the moderators are watching. Wave to the moderators and pretend nothing's happening.

[whispers explanation into Jarok's ear]

What? I was talking about the rain. It's been rainy all week here, and next week looks to be more of the same! ;)

Er ... uh ... yes! Terrible weather we're having here, too. Tsk, tsk, tsk! Oh, and Moderator Jarok, I was just joking about that stuff I whispered in your ear. We're all good, loyal citizens here! I'm such a kidder, pardon me as I laugh awkwardly at my own joke!

It's been very rainy. We've got tomatoes and cucumbers growing like crazy in front of the living room window because the weather's been too lousy for us to get them outside and in the ground.

As for a gap between part one and part two... well, that gap could be long indeed if today really is Judgment Day!

Wait... what the hell are we talking about?

I thought the "finale" was part 1 of a cliffhanger, and part 2 leads off the second batch in the fall?

It pisses me off when people boast about doing illegal things for completely invalid reasons, like impatience. Last year all the Americans had already seen the episodes by the time they aired, and so there wasn't anyone left to discuss the damn things when they finally aired in the US. The discussion that did exist was all "just wait until you see _____!"

Hell, I don't get BBCA and yet I follow the law - I wait *gasp* 10 hours after the BBC America broadcast and pay for it through the Amazon video thing. People deserve monetary compensation for their work, and just because downloading is easy and you're likely to get away with it doesn't make it okay. [/rant]

I'll wait the week.

:guffaw:

I've bought the episodes, so I don't feel as bad using "alternate" ways to see them until they're available from itunes. I can't wait. Bad, bad BBCA. :(

Oh, well, I'm still on the road, and my hotel doesn't have BBCA anyway...

ETA- yeah, usually itunes in America has a delay, too. :scream:

I'll wait the week.

I might be influenced by my busy schedule and that I think I get it On Demand, but I'll probably wait the week as well. It might be slightly annoying, but it's not a huge time frame we're talking about.

Plus, the aforementioned birthday weekend. I'll be too busy wallowing in the fact that I'm old to watch the day it would normally air anyway.

Oh puleeze.

If people were making bootleg copies you'd have a valid point. I support Doctor Who by buying the DVDs, books, magazines, and other merchandise. Once it's aired it's aired, what difference does it make if I see it a week before you do?

The BBC America has a nice discussion forum if you're lonely for conversation.

When I do watch an episode via alternate means I always end up watching it when it airs. Honestly, it has nothing to do with ethics, I just like watching it on TV but the reason I watch it in other places is because I don't want to wait. I mean, I have gone over and over in my head for a good reason to wait and I can't come up with one.

Seriously, getting what I want now isn't hurting anyone or warping my moral compass.

Actually, Space is showing Rebel Flesh at its regular Saturday time, this Saturday (the 21st). Proof. (NOTE: Times in that link are in Atlantic Time Zone).

No word about The Almost People yet.

Yes, I knew that. My point was that Space are forced to delay episodes 6 and 7 because America feels the need to have a break.

And Space have confirmed that The Almost People won't be on next week since their schedule shows a movie is on instead....

So I just realized something. Us Americans will have less of a gap to worry about when the show goes on mid-season hiatus.

This move makes no sense. I guess I will be watching it online for the next couple of weeks.

Sure it makes sense, Memorial Day Weekend, people aren't going to be just sitting around at home, they're going to be having Family outings, Big BBQs, going to parks, etc. No one runs their regular programs during the Memorial Weekend, that why there are so many marathons on, such as SyFy's Twilight Zone, BBCA's Dr Who, etc. They figure you can just ahve the channel on, going through the marathon, and your gatherings can catch an episode here and there while the aprty commences.
