Twin Peaks Season 3 (Revival) Discussion / Spoilers

Just finished watching the boxed set. I really enjoyed it but by the end I just felt that Lynch had been teasing me all along with no intention of resolving anything! That said, I think there was probably a ton of foreshadowing that bears a second watch.

My principal criticism is that I would have liked them to use the original music more often. The hairs on my neck stood up whenever they did but just not often enough. Second criticism is that some of the original characters from Twin Peaks were just not used enough. Lucy, Hawk, and Andy had a fair crack, plus Sarah and Laura were used very effectively. There were a lot of nice cameos from supporting characters too including the Log Lady, Major and Mrs Briggs, Bob, Mike, the Giant, Sylvia, Johnny, Jacobi, Nadine, Leyland, Doc Heywood, Jeffries, etc but Ben, Audrey, Shelly, Bobby, Norma, Ed, James, and Jerry, we're just not involved enough. They all felt like they needed one more plot thread each. Jerry and Audrey's bizarre plots might be linked, so I'd like to rewatch. I assumed that the missing Billy is the drooling guy in the jail cell?

The notion of having doppelgangers of doppelgangers was a bit confusing but intriguing.

I'm not sure I could sit through another full series unless they bring the original characters more to the fore but I'd love a movie or mini series to finish this off properly!

David Lynch has passed away at age 78.

So no more Twin Peaks. Sadly, it never satisfactorily ended, at least for me. I guess I will continue with my "head canon" that it ended on December 1, 1990 with Coop, Truman and Albert walking through the woods discussing "the evil that men do."
