Janeway ordered her fleet to turn off their temporal shields so that when she rammed the weapon, they would all be deleted and replaced with innocent versions of themselves when the weapon ate itself and never happened.

The innocent part kind of intrigues me with these stories in that if you return to a line in the sand without residual forewarning (as one would suppose) then why would that person not repeat their original course? Yet we assume Annorax makes a different choice. He leaves his science project and decides to spend time with his wife.

I don't think Annorax was overly bright. How many times was he going to try and put the genie back in the bottle with his time machine weapon thingy? It was not working. Thankfully our Janeway came along and after a rough year she sorted it all out. Smart enough to think - doh you need to do a reset.

The idea and the knowhow to build the temporal weapon didn't vanish from history... It was the raw resources used to make it which could have been super rare to almost unique, ergo nearly impossible to replace.

Actually, since Kathy's face was inside the weapon's core when it blew up, shouldn't her face have been removed from history too? Which may explain Nicole Janeway maybe?
