[Brian]

SPOCK: That the universe will unfold as it should.

 

[Leandar]

We missed a fair bit:

Valeris: I do not understand this representation.

Spock: It is a depiction from ancient Earth mythology. The expulsion from paradise.

Valeris: Why keep it in your quarters?

Spock: It is a reminder to me that all things end.

Valeris: It is of endings that I wish to speak.

And now:

VALERIS: Sir, I speak to you as a kindred intellect. Do you not realize that a turning point has been reached in the affairs of the Federation?

SPOCK: History is replete with turning points, Lieutenant. You must have faith.

Valeris: Faith?

SPOCK: That the universe will unfold as it should.

 

[CoveTom]

VALERIS: But is that logical? Surely...

(And with that, my good friends, I am now a Commodore! Oh, yeah! Bow down before Commodore CoveTom! )

 

[Brian]

Congratulations, fellow Commodore!

SPOCK: Logic? Logic is the beginning of wisdom, Valeris, not the end. This will be my final voyage on board this vessel as a member of her crew. Nature abhors a vacuum. I intend you to replace me.

 

[Leandar]

Congratulations!

Valeris: I could only succeed you, sir.

 

[Brian]

UHURA: Now hear this. All officers to the bridge. Klingon battle cruiser off the port bow. All officers to the bridge.

 

[Leandar]

Officer: Captain on the bridge.

^^^^I just gotta say how this line always bugged me. "ALL officers to the bridge."? That's either going to be one hell of a crowded bridge, or shouldn't there be a whole lot more officers on a Constitution class ship?

And now, back to our regularly schduled thread.

 

[Leandar]

^^^^I figure that they probably know that announcement would mean all senior officers to the bridge and not just any ol' officer.

Chekov: Shall we raise our shields, sir?

 

[Brian]

KIRK: Never been this close.

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: The Chancellor is undoubtably awaiting our signal.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Uhura, hailing frequencies. Right standard rudder, bring us alongside...

Valeris: Right standard rudder, Z plus 5 degrees.

 

[Brian]

UHURA: Channel is open, Captain.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: This is the starship Enterprise, Captain James Kirk commanding.

 

[Brian]

GORKON: This is Q'onoS One. I am Chancellor Gorkon.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Chancellor, we've been ordered to escort you through Federation space to your meeting on Earth.

 

[LeadHead]

Gorkon: Thank you Captain.

 

[Brian]

KIRK: Would you and your party care to dine this evening aboard the Enterprise with my officers as guests of the United Federation of Planets?
