TUC: Collectors Edition Question

you'll realize there is no way they could have done a chestpiece that looks even vaguely realistic.

Not to mention that whenever members of my old ST club pitched the question to women (and some men) who'd actually been on the set when Montalban had been in costume for ST II, we always got the same answer. Bjo Trimble, Susan Sackett and others always swooned, "Oh yeah, that was his real chest!"

Judson Scott and Walter Koenig gave similar answers, but without the swooning. (Not so sure about the swooning level of George Takei's answer now, though.)

^Actually, I was sending a simple message of no more than three characters through the temporal loop.

I'm sorry, I'm not laughing at any one post, but the whole thing is just amusing. No one is budging, no one is presenting a new arguement, we are all sitting here going around in circles and using the exact same scene as ammo against the other side. The only way this is gonna end is if everybody gets tired of posting the same thing. Ahh, this is fun. :bolian:

Oh, an interesting little fact for you guys. Just as an experiment, I showed the audio clip to several more people who had never seen the movie. Now, as we have pointed out a few times before, the lack of synchronization between Spock and Valeris makes the line a little hard to understand. Well, I showed the clip to these friends one by one, and then asked half of them if they heard "and others" in there and the other half "Nanclus." Every single person said they heard whatever I had suggested to them. Now, this doesn't really help anyone, but I thought it was interesting.

And yes, I don't have a life.

Ha!

Welcome to human discourse. One step forward, two steps back. :bolian:

I know it's not helping anything, but I have to agree: I always heard "and others". And I think the YouTube clip of that scene is proof for that ...

I always heard "some unintelligible gibberish that will keep Trekkies debating this line for over 15 years."

Well, I must admit that 5 pages worth of "She said this!" versus "She said that" has been amusing. I think I was most excited about the depth of debate material that has been brought to the table.
