Only thing I really missed from the film was seeing a flashback to the original Grid. Seeing 80's cgi reproduced on a modern computer would have been fun.

Similarly, I was dissapointed there wasn't at least a homage to some of Wendy's themes in Daft Punks score.

Supposedly there is another teaser that was filmed that shows Quorra riding up on Sam's bike and announcing to the press that she spoke to Kevin Flynn...yesterday.

In the link on the video description it says that the 2nd Teaser for Tron 3 will be with Quorra and Dillinger Jr. on the BluRay as an Easter Egg.

Anyway.. awesome teaser. I love how they reinvented Tron, modernized it yet kept true to the original. It wasn't a perfect movie and some things can be improved upon but i can't wait to see Tron 3 (and i cross my fingers for another stellar soundtrack by Daft Punk).

I'm really excited for the next "Tron" movie now. I can't wait to see Cillian Murphy as the baddie in the next film. This really got me pumped for the next film. I'm curious as to where the story goes from here. Also, more Alan Bradley is always a good thing. I think his character was stronger and more apparent in this short film than the entirety of "Tron: Legacy". I always liked his character. The ending set-up the next film perfectly. Bring on "TR3N"!

Was that Cillian Murphy in Legacy? It didn't look like him at all! Also, I wonder if they'll involve David Warner somehow. As soon as they showed Ed Jr, I knew it was a relation of some kind. He had that same smirk that his father had. It'll be interesting to see how they precieve the main system in the next movie. The Grid was just a single computer. Nothing got in that Flynn didn't create himself. I imagine the next movie to be an amazing visual feat. I imagine Sam creating another version of Clu in the main system so we can have Jeff Bridges in the movie. This would be a true representation of Kevin Flynn, though.

So many directions the next one can take! I would like the next story to be about Tron/Alan though, with snippets of Flynn.

A theory going around is that Ed Jr used some of his father's software work when he developed the new OS that Sam stole and released onto the WWW, meaning there might be some elements of the MCP in that software. The third movie might be about him fully reactivating the MCP and making a new version of Sark (played by Cillian Murphy) that Sam and Quorra have to battle in data-form to save the world.

^ Not according to what I've read and I believe as Christopher has mentioned in other posts David is doing plays right now.

I actually think that little clip fleshed out the events of the movie. I think they should have kept much of that in the film. It really provides a lot of context

plus I liked the "tone' of the real world stuff in the film and in the scenes,. i wish I could explain, the color saturation (almost sepia without them overdoing it) that I think it gives the story a real edge and atmosphere

Crikey, all that hoopla (in-universe, but still) for a mere video game/OS programmer? Or am I missing something? Because that struck me as pretty silly.

It's implied in the Tron world that Kevin Flynn was revolutionary...Bill Gates but like ten times that. Not sure what is silly about it.

Really? Bill Gates was pretty important to the last thirty years. If one is going to posit a figure "ten times" more important, one should at least try to hint at why, otherwise it's just unoriginal, lazy-ass writing (which, let's face it, was quite evident in T:L also) - imho. ;)

If you've watched either movie Gaith you would know why Kevin Flynn is considered an important person in the Tron world.

I've seen Legacy, but I honestly don't remember. He founded a corporation based on giving away an OS? Doesn't make much sense to me, but even if he had - a one-man Linux architect, for instance - I hardly see that making him into a sizable cult figure.

You met any Linux fanatics? If you have then you know they consider Linus Torvalds as beyond god much like Apple fanatics worship at the altar of Steve Jobs .

Though i agree.. Flynn's reputation seems to be just there without any tangible explanation why he seems so important. He was a hotshot programmer and tech visionary for sure but he's been gone for decades and left a software company that seems to be the Microsoft of the Tron universe.

Apart from that no one knows much of him save for his messiah messages he delivered before disappearing.
