^ Wouldn't the Son Of Sam law prevent Dillinger Sr. From keeping his ENCOM shares? One cannot profit from one's crimes.

The New York Son of Sam law was only invoked 11 times between 1977 and 1990, so it's not a sure bet that it would have been enforced. In point of fact, the original New York law was struck down, so the end result might have been the same even if the Son of Sam law were invoked. Later laws filled the First Amendment loophole found by the Supreme Court, but those laws would probably be too late to take care of this particular situation.

Okay, that Tron: Jeremy was pretty funny...

I have no doubt that Flynn and Quorra were going at it like bunnies. But who's to say whether a digital representation of a human being and a program would actually create digital children?

That would be something to explore...especially since Quorra is said to be the last ISO.

I thought time passes something like 50 times faster in the Grid vs. the real world. So assuming that's true, Flynn was in there for a thousand years!

Hmmm...

Again, plot hole.

Flynn should have already had an army of 'Flynn' (plural; children of Quorra and Kevin Flynn) to take down CLU...

Flynn said that Clu fed off of his "aggression." The more he fought, the more Clu fought, that's what I took it to mean. So, if he created an army...

It's why he took him self "off the grid." He didn't want to play the game, and an army would be playing the game.

So, not a plot hole.

Alright...;)

I didn't catch that.

I'm somewhat amazed Dillenger Jr. got himself a job at Encom considering what his scumbag father did.

I'm surprised his father wasn't in jail all of this time, unable to marry and have a son! Guess that he was, and so here we are with Dillnger Jr.

Hmmm...a plot hole...?

Of course, they could still explain that for the third film; and they have a lot to explain for the third film.

I have no doubt that Flynn and Quorra were going at it like bunnies.

Dude its Disney. That kind of stuff doesn't happen. :p

Well, even The Incredibles had some innuendo going on.
:p

We might not 'see' Kevin Flynn and Quorra 'gettin' busy' but I'm sure we could see some implication.

Well, this film was in real-time and so was 28 years after the first film. Most likely Dillinger had his son BEFORE the first movie happened since all the characters are supposed to be as old as their actors and Murphy would've been about 6 years old then.

You are on an unusual quest to find plot holes.

Besides the obvious suggestion already made, Jr. was born before Sr went to jail. There is also the possibility that he wasn't in jail for very long and had Jr afterwards. Or a conjugal visit or two...

Having a son is hardly a plot hole.

While it's very easy to second guess a Flynn-Quorra fling, I would put forth the notion that Flynn felt like the ISOs were his children and treated them as such. The ISOs (presumably) don't have a compulsion for sex/romance, so she would have no reason to make advances on Flynn. Seeing her as more of a daughter, Flynn would not have a compulsion to make a move on her either..

Just sayin'...

Oh, and "Tron: Jeremy" just about made me do a spit take of my coffee.. Nice one!!

Also, Flynn was still feeling the wounds of losing his wife in an accident, and probably felt that she was a true soul mate, never to be equaled (much like actor Peter Cushing had felt after the death of his wife Helen.) Quorra would probably only remind him of her if he started to let his relationship go beyond the platonic father/daughter student/teacher friendship seen on screen. Plus, not all older men want to fuck younger women.

EDIT: I just saw the movie tonight for the third and last time before I see it on home video, and I noticed something; one of the posters here (I forget who) said that the world of this movie and the first one weren't set in our reality, and we all said that he was wrong. Well, they were right; it isn't really set in our reality (the real world, non-Grid scenes.) The fact that Microsoft doesn't exist is one thing, but also I noticed that the city that the movie is set in is fictional (it's called Central City, and it says so on the police station where Sam was held after his stunt.) Also, the make of police motorbike that chased Sam at the beginning of the movie is a BMW-a bike that's not usually used by North American police forces (they mostly use Harleys.) And the movie is filmed this time in Vancouver, BC in Canada (the scene on top of the ENCOM tower shows a building with the Bank of Nova Scotia-aka Scotiabank-logo on it.)

So, all in all, a slightly similar world to ours, but not really.

It's not that unusual. I'm a writer, so I look at movies, novels, short stories for anything that could have been done better, things I should or shouldn't do in my own writing...etc. Especially if I pay money, I will definitely look for anything that may or may not be worth my time.;)

It's another perspective.;)

I'm a writer too. And I do the same thing. But, I think sometimes people scream plot hole, when it's not really that. It might be something that has happened off screen, or, isn't that unusual (having a son).

Like for me a plot hole is like in Green Hornet:

EDITED TO ERASE THE SPOILER. Stupid spoiler tags.

I'll just say this, the end of Green Hornet... the whole final action sequence didn't have to happen if they just went to, I don't know, a Starbucks. Or any free wireless hot spot. It makes no sense. But, then, it's an awful movie.

Well, I can hear echoes (more rhythmic than melodic) of Wendy in the "Tron Adagio" cue.

And I realized that there was one other obvious place where Wendy's material shows up: the TRON video game console! Remember, the "Solar Sailer" motif gets carved up into at least three cues in the video game; we hear the one that was used as the "win" cue.

Still, Daft Punk are not in the same league as Wendy. Or Jean-Jacques Perrey and Gershon Kingsley. Or Tomita Isao. Or even Don Dorsey. And it still seems like "Salieri pinch-hitting for Mozart": good, but it could have been so much better.

I listen to Cinemagic a lot on XM Radio, especially Reel Time. The director of Tron Legacy wad on and they talked about the score and he stated that none of Wendy Carlos score was used in Tron Legacy. The only thing used were some of the 8 bit sounds from the Tron video game. Which the got by sending a sound engineer to an arcade.

Hmmm...I don't know, that seems far too fanwanky too me. They bring back Dan Shor for some DVD extra? Granted he's not a big name or anything, it just seems like a stretch.

I guess the whole 'being chased by a gangster bent on killing them' thing didn't quite register, huh?:vulcan:

It looks like a "Tron 3" may be closer to reality! http://www.aintitcool.com/node/48194

What "DVD extra" are they talking about? The one for Legacy? Or are they already planning the DVD/BR release of Tron 3, which at this point does not, technically, exist?

I do like the idea of meeting Ram's User and...
finding out that he ran the Flynn Lives campaign. Also, Dillinger Jr. and Sr. working together?

I can see where you're coming from, but let's be real, a LOT about the "Tron: Legacy" promotion campaign was fanwanky. They could have followed the typical Hollywood route of doing a remake, but they went sequel. They sought out Bridges and Boxleitner (when Bridges himself is enough of a name draw) and put in a lot of references to the original even though this is an all "new" Grid. Even that Comic-Con footage from a couple years back was terribly fanwanky. This all just follows suit to what we've seen so far methinks.

Um. It did. But, rather go to the place where they know you work, you could have gone to a million other places.

Escape, go to some place OTHER than your known place of work or home seems smarter than say run to the place that they know that you work.

Especially since the reason given is they need access to the internet. Um, seriously? Starbucks. The Library. My smart phone.

So, yeah. Dumb.
