Flynn, the lead hero of Tron, becoming the villain (as CLU,) and sacrificing himself to stop "himself," may have been an old story. (Or may not.) But it was a less commonly used old story than Tron's, which was basically, hero beats bad guy.

I'd say the original and sequel both share the same story: antagonist in a strange land succeeds through the superiority of his ways.

A very European idea.

Tron: Resurrected as the plot deals with Tron being rebooted by Flynn or Sam to use against Dillinger Jr's new creation.

According to AICN, TL is about to hit the 300 mil mark worldwide and Disney is about to make the sequel announcement...

No studio would ever put a movie with "end" in the title unless they were certain they'd never make another, so I wouldn't hold your breath. ;)

Highlander *Endgame*

There's been no end to beating that dead horse.. That said, the movie holds a special place in my heart.. It TRIED to be "all that" for Highlander fans, what with bringing Rachel and Heather back, and some nice location shooting, but even me, the biggest Highlander fanboy on the block will admit that it just wasn't very good.

Nah, they'll want to appease the critics that trashed this last one by appealing to their cultural values:

Grid Expectations

Kevin Flynn: Legacy

The Kevin Flynn character will have a minor cameo as a resurrected evil minion. He will wear a mask during his few minutes on-screen.

I watched the "Making of Tron" video and I realized what put me so off about the performance of younger Flynn, Clu. (besides the poor CGI) In the video, they showed Jeff Bridges acting out scenes for facial capture. The one where he's talk to Sam, while being menacing Bridges acting is subdued. Then you watch the "body actor" his arms are flailing and making weird gestures. The body acting and the face acting didn't sync and there are tons of these moments through out the movie. I actually wish now that they did motion capture and did a full CGI Clu.
