[Orac]

Gul Evek (continued): You will be taken to Central prison on Cardassia Prime to await trial.

O'Brien: I'm not going anywhere with you.

 

[BlueStuff]

Miles tries to tackle Evek, but is stunned by the guard.

KEIKO: Miles! Miles...

She tries to help him, but he is pulled away by Evek, and they are beamed off of the runabout.

KEIKO: No! Miles, Miles!!

 

[Orac]

[Cardassia]

Cardassian [OC]: Look to the children. They are the future of Cardassia and they will lead the way. Invest in their minds. Teach them carefully.

 

[BlueStuff]

[Processing area]

O'Brien is pushed into a spotlight.
CARDASSIAN: Remove your clothes.

 

[MacLeod]

O'BRIEN:
My name is Miles O'Brien. My rank is chief of operations, Starfleet. I am a Federation citizen.

 

[Orac]

Cardassian: Remove your clothes.

 

[BlueStuff]

O'BRIEN: My name is Miles O'Brien, my rank is chief of operations, Starfleet, I'm a Federation citizen!

The Cardassians forcibly remove his clothes whilst he struggles and protests.

 

[MacLeod]

CARDASSIAN VOICE: Would you care to make a confession?

 

[BlueStuff]

O'BRIEN: My name is Miles O'Brien, my rank is Chief of Operations, Starfleet, I am a citizen of the Federation!

 

[MacLeod]

CARDASSIAN VOICE: Process him.

 

[Orac]

(O'Brien is held down while a laser is shone into his eye. His ID number 41302 comes up on a monitor. He's dragged to a metal chair, hits one of the guards but is slammed back and drugged. The chair tilts to lie him down.)

Brien: My name is Miles O'Brien. My rank is Chief of Operations

(A lock of hair and a tooth are taken from him during this, then he is irradiated. The main doors open and a female Cardassian enters.)

 

[BlueStuff]

MAKBAR: Has he been processed?

 

[Orac]

Cardassian: He has.

 

[BlueStuff]

MAKBAR: You were told he was not to be harmed.

 

[Orac]

Cardassian: He had to be restrained. Bring him his clothing.

 

[BlueStuff]

A guard complies.

MAKBAR: I apologise for the way you've been treated, Mr. O'Brien. I'm Makbar, chief archon. I want your stay here to be as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. I've scheduled your trial to begin in two days. You've been assigned the Venerable Kovat as public conservator.

 

[MacLeod]

O'BRIEN: As what?

 

[Orac]

Makbar: Your lawyer. Many feel that he's the best counsel in all Cardassia.

O'BRIEN: What do I need a lawyer for? What am I charged with? Who's accusing me?
