Trekked Out...

Does anyone else get Trekked Out at times?? I have found myself not watching any Trek or coming to this site for about a month or longer. I then come back to trek and this site with a fresh outlook and new apprication on all things trek...

I find the opposite- when Enterprise ended I kind of swore off trek for a while- never watched reruns or anything. Then my gf didn't know who Data was so I forced her to watch TNG from start to finish- she loved it, now we're on to DS9 at her request... and unfortunately it's reactivated my Trekkie gene and I am back to buying books and playing Trek games and posting on this board and generally I am up to my ears in Trek again it's wierd!

After NEM, I became fairly disgusted with the state of things, and tired of the weird little arguments on the boards. When ENT was canceled, I figured that was pretty much it, and vanished for a while. Then I saw the first preview for ST09, and was back like a day hadn't passed.

I am 49 years old and I have never reached a point where I was tired of Star Trek. I have watched it since my early teens, never quite understood it when it was first on but it looked good on the color TV. Went to Target today and bought the Enterprise from the recent movie.

Not really, The only two movies i'll casually skip over without thinking about it are V and Nem. Missed a good chunk of ENT cause I was training for the military. There's some episodes i'll skip too, but I never really got tired of it.

I don't think I've ever been 'Trekked out', but sometimes I just get this overwhelming need to ignore the rest of Trek and watch all my TOS episodes and movies.

Sometimes I get 'Trekked out' enough to stop all my writing and art projects for a while and just play World of Warcraft instead for a few weeks.

Now that is one thing I do. I get WoW'ed out all the time. Cant focus on one game at the time, and right now its the only one I got. Ex stole all my other ones.

Well, I haven't been watching enough Trek in ages to be trekked out. Actually, I haven't seen any trek on TV all year, and probably not since last summer. Sure I watched the movie tho, only once.

For me, it comes and goes in waves. There might be a period of time where I'm nostalgic for Trek and I'll re-watch some favorite episodes or films on DVD. When the TNG and DS9 DVDs were first released several years ago, I'd re-watch them straight through.

After the disappointment of NEM and my frustration with certain aspects of ENT, I pretty much swore off Trek for a long time. The franchise needed a break and so did I. But I'm back to enjoying Trek again. Loved ST'09. I read some of the novel series. I'll watch the TNG and ENT reruns on Sci-Fi if I'm home.

Nope. I have all the DVD'S and only look at those when the mood strikes me (which surprisingly, isn't often), and never watch reruns. Having the uncut, commercial free DVD's makes that pointless. The last Star Trek show I watched was the new movie in the middle of May. I also collect all the novels, but a currently reading other things.

Being a fan of other shows, such as Babylon 5, which I am currently re-watching after a three year break, keeps me from being Trekked-out.

I got kinda burnt out by my senior year in high school (VGR's 7th season) to the point that I was watching, but wasn't "watching".

Interestingly, ENT really renewed my interest in Trek.

Trek really isn't a part of my media viewing any more. I'm not Trekked out, it's just not that important. I have other media to get watched and caught up with.

That said, I'm a big fan of the Vanguard series, and I can't wait for the nest book to come out. I also enjoyed Star Trek, and I could easily go watch it again while it's still in theaters.

I occasionally pull out the DVDs or movies ... I especially enjoy showing an episode or two to my daughter, and I suspect that we will watch more together as she gets older.

When Trek returns to TV, I will make a place or it. Until then...
