Believe it or not, I actually remember when the board looked like this... It was when I first discovered this place over seven years ago -- when I was still in high school.

Now that i remember. Posting happens in a heartbeat. One day you're a cadet, the next day you're a fleet admiral. But the memories of the board stay with you for the long haul. I remember a board, a forum, a thread, like a lot of threads. Posters like a lot of other posters. On a URL like a lot of other URLs. And the thing is, after all these years, I still look back ... with wonder.
I was bewildered when big blue went, it was so beautiful. 
The new skin doesn't feel the same, but I have adapted, as we have a lot more features now. I'm willing to loose something to gain something.

I only ever knew Cardassian Grey myself. Big Blue seemed too "nightlife" for my tastes - and as everyone knows, I have no nightlife.

The header is gray, the old TrekBBS logo is missing, and there are avatars in the profiles now (although I don't mind that).

Oh WOW!!!! I had NO idea that we could do that!!! How nostalgic!! I've changed it over now, VERY impressed!!!!
I forgot about the pre-avatar days. I feel ancient.
Well, I just switched my theme to the "Something Blue..." version - I was able to stand it for about three minutes! My god, I didn't remember how intense those colors were. 
I'll say a prayer for you.
I just switched over to Big Blue for the day to honor my fallen comrade.
I remember the now permabanned Enterpriser dominating each forum with multiple posts. It got to the point where I believe he was the reason for a new rule: posting limits. That in any given day, as I recall (since there is no full list of posted Rules maintained here), you could only start like five topics in each forum.
Before that you could go ape shit with the threads.
I remember MODs (or maybe it was one MOD) on more than one occassion saying this was a "family board" and no cursing allowed. Fuck yeah we can curse now!
I remember a masturbation thread getting so out of hand, the person in charge locked it and said that threads like that were no longer allowed in Misc., but we had one just recently (again, lack of full posted Rules).
I remember when we used ot have funny threads all the time.
I remember attacks from trolls and spammers, some with particularly nasty things to say about a former person in charge.
I remember smaller avatar sizes. In fact, the current avatar I have reflects how big avatars used to be allowed in size.
And, sadly, I remember electrical superstorms and flying dragons. I still shutter at the thought, but thankfully the computer doesn't freeze up.

Enterpriser also had the most number of posts of any poster in this place - the self-proclaimed First Fleet Admiral. Now there are dozens of the buggers. (Fleet Admirals, that is)
