hi,the phaser is a toy pic I got off the web, quickly took it into photoshop to show rough colour for an example, and there was not a press conference 4 the trek toys.
I reckon the next time we see anything that confirms everything will soon, then toys!

yeah...sorry. I hadn't read the whole thread!

If any of this took place, there are bound to be spy pix coming in soon.

look mate, not everyone is a fan, drop all the doubt,no one questioned me about hulk, indy and ironman, its an english toy trade fair 4 the industry, running from wed 2 sat,its only 4 commercial chain of shops 2 buy in mass quantities and 2 see what lies ahead 4 the year from colourful prams, teletubbies, radio control cars to bl**dy star trek toys

The guys right, the fair ended on Friday, which is a pity because I was gonna try and blag myself in as a news blog with a press pass I obtained in A Level Media, but i digress.

Still tho, not that long a wait till US Toy Fair when theres bound to be pics. :)

This looks just like the phaser debush described.

Hum, don't get me wrong, but how can ANYONE, and I do mean anyone, mistake a Phaser for a real gun ?

The standard coloring of one is grey and black, right ?

I do understand the need to have toy guns colored differently from real guns, but a Phaser ?

I'm sorry if I seem a bit thick on this.

* Who's confused by the whole thing as he has a Phaser that's colored correctly allready that he bought a long time ago *

Well, you DO realize that some towns have been hiring Klingons for their local police forces recently, soooo....

Stun now- ask questions later.

The sad thing is, anything can look like a gun in the dark. However, I seriously doubt that many people have been shot as a result of playing with their phasers. They may however, go blind!

Gee, I'm only 34 and I used to play with real firearms that had been deactivated and plugged. No one ever said anything.

Anyway- the colour of the phaser in the photo isn't that bad though a little comic-esque.

Then they're doing it wrong!

or...

They're doing it correctly.

The phaser shown there is one of the variant versions made by Art Asylum, and represents one of the early variations before they settled on the final version. (They had an all-black one with a "pearl handle" at one point, and this one was closer but had a "wood" handle. They finally gave us the dark-bronze handle which was otherwise very similar to this one, though.

My point was that it looks like, from Debush24's description, that they're using an existing prop design.

Though again, based on one persons account, I am not convinced one way or the other. I'd like to see the original phaser- not those particular colours, but it would be better then, let's say those big ugly clunkers they had in TUC.

I don't think they're using a recycled toy design, doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of showing off a new product?

We're going see a combo of "The Corbomite Maneuver", and "The Search for Spock" phaser pistols. Just like what the teaser did.

It is hard to tell at this point,1701 and romulan ship definately not recycled.
I dont think I mention this before, they are doing spock ears-role play.
Also a mego like figs of spock.

Well, that's what's being done with the stuff that Master Replicas used to make in their Star Wars line. The line (including all contracts with subvendors) has been transfered, lock-stock-and-barrel to the new vendor.

It's strange, but it's not unheard of, in other words.

The guy showing the group around said there would over 25 figures for the 1st range,I hope there will be some high
end statues and props
