Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Antenna TV has just started airing a series called 'Good Morning World'. It took me a minute but I finally recognized the lead female as Julie Parish from the TOS episode 'The Menagerie - Part 1'.

Two season one guests in The Fugitive, "Set Fire to a Straw Man," 1965.

I don't think it would come as a great surprise that the 'Mission: Impossible' binge this weekend has had a lot of familiar TOS actors/actresses appearing. I just happened to catch a young Paul Winfield as a prisoner in the last episode I watched.

Oh yeah, that's the one they shot on the Hogan's Heroes sets, wasn't it? "Trial by Fury," I think it was. One of the better episodes that season, since the team's plan relied less on gadgets and logistics and more on psychology and persuasion.

The two shows I'm familiar with that seem to have the most TOS guests per capita would be Mission: Impossible and Tarzan. Seems rare to find an episode of either that doesn't have at least one, and they often have more than one.

Probably already been mentioned, but I was sorta surprised to see four TOS guest stars in the 1969 True Grit:

Kim Darby .... Mattie Ross/Miri
Jeff Corey .... Tom Chaney/High Advisor Plasus
Alfred Ryder .... Goudy (defense attorney)/Dr. Robert Crater
John Fiedler .... J. Noble Daggett/Hengist (Redjac)

Ron Soble, Wyatt Earp from "Spectre of the Gun," is in it, too.

IMDB lists a few other common minor players: http://www.imdb.com/search/name?roles=tt0065126,tt0060028

And of course Corey was in another big Western of 1969, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid:

Along with Ted Cassidy, Charles Dierkop and Don Keefer.

The last three were all in a scene together but not in the same shot.

And while I'm at it, a couple of Season 3 guests, James Daly and Joanne Linville, as a couple in The Fugitive, "Running Scared," 1966.

As I've probably said before, I find Dierkop's inclusion as a minor member of Butch's gang ironic, because Dierkop looked far more like the real Butch Cassidy than Paul Newman did.

Ted Cassidy doing something vaguely resembling a French accent as a heavy on The Man from UNCLE, "The Napoleon's Tomb Affair," which aired 50 years ago tonight...though it may have been partially preempted for coverage of the Apollo 1 tragedy.

Watching a movie on Comet TV called Superbeast staring Antoinette Bower.
It's a weird made in the Philippines movie that's a cross between The Island of Dr. Moreau and The Most Dangerous Game.
