I've said this before, since WestTV started broadcasting, there are a lot of Westerns airing that I've never seen before with TOS alumni.

Just popped on whatever was on the H&I network for breakfast yesterday, because I didn't have time to watch an entire show before I had to run. It happened to be an episode of Wanted: Dead or Alive, and the guest star happened to be Phillip Pine, and the location happened to be Vasquez Rocks!

I had to look up who that was. I know many TOS actors' names on sight, but that's not one of them, somehow. I guess I haven't seen enough of him in other works for his name to register.

Oh, that was the episode that was an almost verbatim remake of a season 1 Mannix episode by John Meredyth Lucas, in which Charles Drake (Commodore Stocker) played the equivalent of Shatner's character.
I may have mentioned that Charles Drake is the only TOS cast member to have appeared in a Marx Brothers movie. He was the heroic/romantic lead in their last movie as a full team, A Night in Casablanca.
Wow. That was the scraggliest and most unflattering toupee I’ve ever seen on him, though not the fakest (that would be the one in the first TekWar movie).

If so, i caught a portion of Hanna Barbara's "Challenge of the GoBots" this morning, and, the Renegade base is hidden in a mountain that looks suspiciously like the Vazquez Rocks.
Makes me wonder if the animators reused that same background plate in other series.

There was a '90s show called Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys, with Babylon 5's Jerry Doyle as the title hero and Michael Dorn and Malcolm McDowell as the main villains, where there was a running gag of a whole series of planets named "Vasquez [Number]" that all featured that rock formation.
Target Earth (1954) features Whit Bissel as a scientist trying to figure out how the kill stupid-looking invading alien robots. The film itself is pretty good, tho - felt like a decent Twilight Zone ep.

My wife's a Woody fan so we watched Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask last night. Some big names of the period, but only a couple of Trek alumni.
