Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

I'll be sure to tell my ex-wife that you called her a pedophile.
Not my intent. The comment was about Steve and Jaime's "childhood sweetheart" romance where Steve is 10 years older than Jaime! The math doesn't work out? De-aging Steve doesn't make sense with his extensive history as astronaut, test pilot, secret agent, so, I guess we could up-age Jaime by 7-8 years to make it work.

It's only in the past 2-3 decades that society has come to see a large age difference between lovers as a bad thing. It used to be seen as pretty normal.

Not exactly a guest actor thing, but the 1971 episode of Carol Burnett that's playing on Me as I type this has her playing a character whose last name is Tribble....

Bogie and Bacall! 25 years apart and a love to be envied. She was what, 19 in To Have and have Not? There's a young lady here at work 12 years my junior (which makes her 50!), who I've had quite a crush on for 30 years.

DecadesTV is running a 'Here Comes The Brides' marathon this weekend, so lots of Robert Brown (Lazarus), Mark Lenard (Sarek) and David Soul (Makora); and last weekend during 'The Odd Couple' marathon there was a young Clint Howard as a foster child.

OT: In re: David Soul; I remember standing in my grandparents' living room one evening the summer of 1975 when a Starsky and Hutch repeat came on. One of my Dad's cousins was visiting, and she looked at the TV and said "Oh, I went to college with him. But his name was David Solbird back then." Turned out she was serious, and correct about his name. Blew my 10 year old mind.

Malachi Throne in the season 2 I Spy "Lori"

Also featured Greg Morris on loan from Mission: Impossible, and Supreme Mary Wilson as... a singer!

Got to watch quite a few eps of I Spy awhile back and was pleased to see Roger C. Carmel (Harry Mudd) in three different episodes of the series.

Where did you read that? I recall many years later Nielsen stated that he didn't want to guest star on Star Trek because he already did the same thing in Forbidden Planet.

Shatner and Nielsen were both Canadians who started as serious leading men got into self-parodying comedy later in their careers.
Should be noted that Nielsen was apparently very good friends with Jimmy Doohan...

Don Keefer, Peter Brocco, Albert Cavens, Monty O'Grady in Where The Action is, an episode of The Fugitive!

A young(ish) Elisha Cook Jr., is on the witness stand testifying against Robert Culp on this morning's episode of 'Trackdown' on MeTV.

In Columbo "Candidate for Crime" from 1973, Davis Roberts (Dr. Ozaba from "The Empath") and the lovely Joanne Linville (Romulan Commander from "The Enterprise Incident") as the prime suspects wife. Excellent episode of Columbo, BTW.

The 1989 TV movie "Twist of Fate" starred Ben Cross and Bruce Greenwood, who would cross paths 20 years later in Star Trek (09) as Sarek and Christopher Pike respectively. John Glover, who had a role in DS9, also appears in a rare turn as a good guy.
