Not sure how to phrase this question, but here goes: as opposed to standard warp drive, FTL methods such as quantum slipstream or transwarp corridors, whilst offering velocities in excess of warp drive operate at a "fixed" velocity, yes? It seems to me that once the ship is in a transwarp corridor or "transiting the slipstream"
that it travels at a fixed rate of speed, so there's no "slipstream factor three" or anything like that. Yes, no, maybe?
If that makes any sense, I would appreciate thoughts and comments. I am exploring ideas for a FTL drive for my fic, and any input is appreciated.

) You can get in and let the current carry you along, or if so equipped you can 'pass up' others travelling with the current.
