Women didn't mind looking like women back then. And men could look at a pretty woman without being sued for sexual harrassment. Women were curvy back then. Nowadays women on TV and in movies look like they haven't eaten in weeks. Bring back curves!

Apparently Susan Oliver also had a playful sense of humor.

Although she may have been a bit confused when this photo was taken -- shouldn't she have been bucking for an Emmy?

She's referring to Oscar Katz, who was some sort of bigshot somewhere I can't remember without looking it up.

Haven't gone all the way back through this thread, but I always thought Yeoman Colt (1st Pilot), Dr Noel ("Dagger of the Mind"), and Yeoman Zarah (sp?) (Operation: Annihilatie) had to be list toppers, along with Carolyn Palamas (Who Mourns for Adonias) and Drusilla (Bread & Circuses).

Mrs. Katz and her lawyer! (Brrrrump-bada-BING!)

    That's why Oscar was hiding.

I'm pretty sure he was the network exec assigned to Desilu Studios.

I think that's correct. I think Solow mentions in his book that Roddenberry thought he was being funny by taking pictures like this, or writing amusing-sounding memos, and sending them off to Katz.

Katz didn't appreciate it so much and mostly wondered what was going on and would Solow please put a lid on it? I believe this led to an informal policy that Roddenberry would run his jokes past Solow to get his take before sending them upward.

Well, I'll seize this as a blatent opportunity to re-post Marianna's picture via seemingly-innocuous quoting:

Ah, I hadn't looked back through it.

Still, if she were on Page #3, why are there further pages? Surely the logical closure point of any discussion regarding babes was reached on Page #3. :vulcan:

Marianna Hill is the Coach Ditka of the Star Trek world ...

Actually he was Executive V.P. of Desilu Productions at the time. His appearance in this interview clip starts at 5:10.

And there's a bit more info about that photo on this Flickr page.

It was in the link.

Christina Hendricks of Mad Men has been getting a lot of love and a lot of press for "bringing the curves back".

I'm a straight chick too, but if I were a guy I'd have to be voting for Rayna Kapec, Uhura, and Barrows. I really want to say the Romulan Commander, but the lipstick color they picked for always seems too light to me. I don't know why that bothers me, but I guess it just leaves me with a "meh" feeling. Nurse Chapel is gorgeous too, but her hair was always a funky color.

Don't forget that Yvonne Craig was equally delicious in the 60s Batman series.
