Trek 4 to bring together Chris Pine & Hemsworth?

Bad Robot/Paramount must have liked enough of their writing (if not the general story direction Orci dictated) to keep them around.

Then again, if ST4 is going to have a reduced budget on account of Beyond's underperformance, maybe they just come cheap:p

I always thought Johnny Depp would make a great Trelane (it's TOS so it should be Trelane!) or Q.

Yeah, all this talk of Q, frankly I'd rather they made it Trelane if they had to use an Omnipotent Alien Being With Immense Powers (tm). Sure, they'd have a novelty factor being able to say "Q playing around with TOS characters", but I'd really rather they just kept the Continuum something unique to TNG.

This seems like a project destined for development hell, spoken of vaguely in years to come... "Hey remember when they were going to do a Kirk/Kirk teamup..." "What a stupid idea."

They wrote the rejected Trek XIII script that Orci was supposed to direct. You know, the one with Shatner trying to restore the Prime Universe or something stupid like that.

I want to know EVERYTHING there is to POSSIBLY know about this AWESOME idea!

George Kirk on the Kelvin meets James T. Kirk on the Enterprise. Maybe, it will be a retelling of "Yesterday's Enterprise" as "Yesterday's Kelvin". ;)

I have heard word of this film being released in 2019. Let's hope it is not released in the early-to-mid summer. August is a good bet. (May to July will be dominated by Star Trek IX, Indiana Jones 5, and Transformers 7.)

I am not sure where wayoung got the idea they are exploring the Briar Patch - the impression I have from watching the film, is that the Enterprise will be exploring the Necro Cloud, now that Starfleet ships can navigate through it.

Yes ST4 probably be summer 2019 (if it was being planned for 2018 then STB underperforming has probably put the brakes on for getting to work immediately)

Star (Wars) IX probably be Xmas like VII and VIII. looking at BOmojo - other 2019 summer stuff - FF9 (19April), Avengers IW part 2 (3 May), an untitled DC film -Batman? MOS2? (14June). so along with TF7 (28 June) and Indy 5 (19July) and possibly Trek 4 in late May (well after Avengers) or early june or early July, summer 2019 is already shaping up to be quite crowded

Did the Commodore not call it the Brian Patch at one point? I remember that being one of the references to past Trek. Maybe I'm Mandella-ing.

^^Or a movie where Captain Kirk and Jack Ryan team up. Hmm, which would bring in more money, a movie with Chris Pine in both roles, or a movie with William Shatner and Harrison Ford?

Pine is no longer Jack Ryan, John Krazinski is. Pine, like Baldwin and Affleck before him, is one and done.

John Krazinski is television Jack Ryan. Pine is still the most recent movie Jack Ryan. Yes, I am going to be that obtuse.
