Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Super Bowl spot

My uncle on Transformers 2 (before the trailer):

Uncle: Is Megan Fox going to be in that movie?
Cosby: Yeah, I'm certain.
Uncle: She should be in every movie.

Aye carumba.

Oh I like Devastator! He looks different, of course, they all do, but he's hulking and powerful - a true patchwork monster.

wow, looks like there's at least 7 components.

dump truck (Long Haul)
Bulldozer (Bonecrusher (originally))
excavator (Scavenger?)
Mixer (Mixmaster)
crane (Hook)
backhoe (??)
and one labeled as 'right arm' which looks like either Scrapper or Scavenger.

if that unicycle guy in the spot is ONE constructicon, this mutha's gonna be FREAKING HUGE!

Well, this more or less proves (from the trailer) the autonomy of the gesalt pieces. I'd read previously that each piece would only form a vehicle and a part of the robot. But the trailer shows the top part wheeling around smashing things.

Looks terrific. Me want more.

The source of that may be more "toy based" than "story based". They are making a large scale Devastator figure that is rumored to stand about 2' tall when assembled. This one is said to be comprised of 7 non-transforming construction vehicles. However, separate, individual non-combining Constructicon figures are planned as well. Of course, this is all rumor til Toy Fair this weekend when I hope all this gets confirmed.

I tried like hell to make out details of the unicycle monster in the trailer but couldn't. I'm convinced that it is indeed *all of the pieces* forming the gestalt.

Someone already posted his robot form earlier, but here it is again.

Devastator is going to be massive if that's just one of its many parts. Unless they're just leaving it with him being a single unit and that's it.

This post shows that Unicyclecon is just one part of Devastator, very likely the torso, or part of it.

So Devastator is still going to be called Devastator after the name mixup from the first movie? (Maybe they should've called the tank Blitzwing). Plus what about Bonecrusher being dead?

Two Transformers in the same universe can have the same name. This happened in G1 (though it was rare). It wouldn't surprise me if they just glossed over it in the movie and didn't even call him by name or just said something like he'll "devastate the city" or something to that effect.

Regarding the name "Bonecrusher", if they didn't want to reuse it there are plenty of other "construction" type names they've ascribed to "Constructicons" over the years including "Buckethead" and "Quickmix". I'm sure they'll find some names to give those toys/characters.

the tank's called 'Brawl' in everything bar the movie.

he should've been named 'Quake' after the Targetmaster...

Maybe this Devastator will be somehow rebuilt from the old one, maybe Devastator and Bonecrusher together... ok that's probably unlikely, but there is precedent. It is, I grant you, far more likely that Michael Bay doesn't care.

The only thing that would ever make me happy about a Transformers movie is if Bay stayed far, far away from the camera and the script. Producing it, fine. But director or the script? No. Just no.

Bay is good behind the camera, but I can't help agree with you about the script. I lot of the dumb things in TF1 were rewrites by Bay.

Damn, another movie beginning with "Revenge Of"? "Rise Of", you better watch your ass, your days are numbered. And don't get too comfortable yourself "Revenge Of"; Because you just know "Return Of" is just biding his time.
