TRANSFORMERS 3 to be called...

Looking at how close the other vehicles are I wonder if he was going to slide behind them. I think there just wasn't a lot of time to do anything.

As a stunt driver, he may not have even been looking where he was going. They rehearse over and over, and sometimes a driver's attention is actually required elsewhere in the vehicle or attention is elsewhere in the maneuver. He would have had his path cleared by dispatch and "knew" there was no traffic he had to worry about. They're saying the cop actually went through a barricade and ignored a red light. Even when responding to a call, cops are supposed to slow down and check their directions when going through an intersection. He didn't.

You wouldn't want to be that cop being interviewed by the chief...

"And then what happened?"
"Well...Bumblebee hit me."
"Bumblebee?"
"Yes, the Autobot."

Kinda more like the stupid, boring, depressing, so-called 'indie' crap released each fall that critics love because 'they're smart and adult.' (Try more like 'depressing' 'cynical' and 'nihilistic'.) At least the Transformers movies imagine that life is amazing, evil can be defeated, and that 'Freedom is the right of all sentient beings!'

I do find the review's focus on male audience member interesting, given my sister's ebullience whenever she has the opportunity to discuss Revenge of the Fallen. (A web search suggests that the movie's audience was nearly half female, so she probably isn't alone.) I think the reviewer may have missed the point.

Check out this member of Deviant Art and her love for The Transformers:

This more than proves what you just said, and also that most critics are full of 'it'.
