'Transformers 3' Casting, Rumors, Pics till release

Also curious about Shockwave's design. In the IDW comics he is shown with a look similar to his toy/G1 design, but the movie and toys stills we've seen reflect somewhat a more "Bayverse" asthetic. maybe like Megatron he has more than one Cybertronian 'look'.
Based on what I've seen of the various designs floating around out there, I'd say this Shockwave is more like Energon Shockblast with Bay-verse design influences.

Not that the first two Transformers were well written.
I'd never try to argue the first is Oscar material but I really did enjoy the first one. It's in a pseudo rotation of films I put on as background when I don't or can't focus on something new while I do other stuff about the house.

Yes, some people play music. I play movies while doing housework more often than not.

I watch both movies every now and then for the camp value. They're not well written but they pass time.

I wouldn't even call the first one written poorly, let alone bad. The second one however is written incredibly horrid. I don't even own it. The die hard TF fan in me will not let me buy it yet. Maybe if I find it for $5 or a crazy Black Friday price of $2-3.

I so want DOTM to be good but ROTF proved that yes, good looking trailers can disguise crap.

Justin Throreux is there now too.

How can you possibly claim that? He's written two movies (with a third in development). One which was a wildly successful, award nominated comedy, and the other was a franchise film that was besieged by studio demands clearly outside his (and his director's) control.

I'm so sick of the tangled, twisted metal look of these robots, how hard is it to make them look more like the cartoon. They are barely recognizable even Optomus still looks like he has a magnet that picks up random pieces if metal along the way. I like these movies, but i'd love to see a reboot in the future.

I agree the designs are overly cluttered, as a result of CGI making it easy for artists to be total bitches and replace actual talent and thought with endless greeblies and superfluous details. This isn't a problem limited to the Transformers movies, sadly, and if you look at the action figures (which necessitate simplifying the movie designs) they actually work quite well.

That said it's bloody well fucking obvious who Optimus is, and "rebooting" Transformers is the dumbest thing I've read today; we're already doomed to endless rehashings of G1 as it is, what fool would encourage that behavior?

That is one hell of a trailer! I disliked Transformers 2 as much as the next guy, but I'm gonna be at the movie theater for this.

It looks like the 3D cameras may have forced Bay to reign in the shakycam and rapid cuts a bit, which can only help.

God that trailer has just made the word EPIC look weak  DAM...thats just, well there is not a word for that :p

The trailers have all looked great so far. It's the story that still concerns me and Kruger is not one to inspire confidence. I'm also eagerly anticipating Steve Jablonsky's score!!! It was one of the few good things about "Revenge of the Fallen".

I agree with you about Kruger. Not to be mean and this is gonna sound pretty harsh but she looks like a poor man's Cameron Diaz circa The Mask, but with botched lip injections.

Hasbro, Takara Tomy and many other companies involved in Transformers would. "Transformers" has been rebooted many times. Only recently has there an attempt been made to consolidate the various bits of its history into something cohesive via the "War for Cybertron" video game and fiction. Series like "Armada" and "Transformers Prime" in many ways are reboots (though they largely use elements of G1 but add to them).

That trailer was great but a little lite in the new footage department. Some stuff on the moon was taken from the first trailer, Prime blitzing the cons came from the Super Bowl spot.

Glad to see Steve Jablonsky is doing the score again. Love his work. My Name is Lincoln from The Island is one of my favourite pieces.

This. Bay knows how to make absolute explosions look cool and interesting. Seems the story will have more depth also this time around.
