'Transformers 3' Casting, Rumors, Pics till release

The most this has a chance of being is an entertaining blockbuster film that redeems the film franchise in the fans eyes. I'd personally like to see someone else do a take on the franchise. Michael Bay doesn't deserve to be the only one who tackles "Transformers". I'm sure now there are other talented directors who have the capability of pulling it off.

Part of me just wants to unbox my Transformers toys and play with them for a few hours than watch another Bayformers movie. :sigh:

I think they should sideline Transformers for a little bit and bring on Robotech.
Transformers won't get sidelined, and despite Bay's reluctance to do another film, I can easily see a new director being chosen with Bay staying on as a producer. It's too much of a cash cow right now for all parties involved. G.I. Joe didn't do as well as Hasbro had wanted and frankly, I'm not seeing "Monopoly" or "Battleship" coming out any time soon so this is it for now.

That said, I SO want some type of human/mecha/adventure movie to come out. Robotech, Exo-Squad, Mechwarrior, anything in that genre would be awesome. I was so excited about oh...ten years ago when there was talk of a live action Mechwarrior series, and I was a bit crushed when it went nowhere.

As films like Avatar and even Matrix 3 have shown us, the "guy in a Mech suit" special effect can be done very convincingly. "Transformers" has shown on screen transformations can be done well. But it will take a good chunk of change to make it happen on the small or big screen. That, and the niche nature of scifi in general probably makes this a really hard sell to any studio. :(

uh, I'd hate to be the one to break it to you, but Battleship is coming out soon, and it's a production that is well over $200 million.

There.

I just saw the trailer for this in the cinema, was intersted at the start, then I realised it was the Transformers on the moon, and got bored, I thought it was going to be a very differnt movie.

Some details have leaked from the adaptations. Sentinel Prime is actually going to be a bad guy, and he's the guy responsible for the big spaceships & stuff, not Shockwave. Basically he wants to turn Earth into new Cybertron. Also if the comics are any indication, Carly and Sam are already a couple by the time of the film.

A bit more than "some;" Amazon.com accidentally put up about 75% of the comic adaptation for the film in their "Look inside" preview. They pulled it down fast, but not before a number of people downloaded all the pages. There's a detailed write-up of everything we know here:

It sounds amazing. I wasn't interested in seeing the film in theaters before I read this, but now I am.
