'Transformers 3' Casting, Rumors, Pics till release

they were alright, but could've done with being toned down a tad, i thought.

i did love 'that hurt!' 'it was supposed to! it was an ass-whupin'!'

This movie just got tons better now. Or is this another Bay flip flop? He's said before that they weren't gonig to be in the film.

That they won't be in the films has been the claim for a while now. There's some doubt that its true, though, given that the Twins' alt-modes were visible in the trailer released last month. In addition:

In the comic and novel adaptations of the film, the Twins are in it and play a major part when they get killed by Sentinel Prime, signaling his defection to the Decepticons.

I suppose they could have cut that, but I have my doubts.

Eh. Possible, sure, but Bay lies through his teeth on this stuff (i.e, Megatron not being in ROTF, Soundwave not being a sports car in DOTM, and so on) and the different adapatations are quite consistent on this point, so I don't trust Bay's word just yet.

Hey, remember that poor woman who got her head sliced open in the name of this horse shit? No?

Nevermind.

Novelizations and comic adaptions work usually from the shooting draft of the screenplay. Greg Cox could probably attest to this more than me. So this is why there are usually deleted scenes or different scenes.

I am aware of that. Like I said, it's Bay's untrustworthy track record with his claims, plus the Twins being visible in the freaking trailer that has me doubtful.

That said, the Twins suck, so I'll be totally happy if I'm wrong.

It's very possible that the Twins were in the screenplay and scenes featuring them were filmed, and then later removed from the movie during the editing process.

Heh. Well, there's a review of a supposed advanced screening up at AICN that's saying this is apparently the best film in the trilogy by far (which doesn't surprise me, having read most of the leaked comic adaptation a few weeks back). Stil, it's all in the execution, and this sounds promising. I like nearly everything I read in that review, honestly. Thank god Sam's parents are barely in it.

Oh, and for what its worth, people are reacting as if this contains confirmation the Twins are indeed in the movie...though I can't find mention of it in the article body anywhere.

ETA: nevermind. They're not called by name:

AICN said:
I'll thank whatever movie gods I have to that Sam's annoying parents are barely in this TRANSFORMERS installment. Without fail, they take us out of the action on the drop of a dime, they aren't funny, and we don't need comic relief like this anyway when we've got street-smart little robots to entertain us. Yes, they're back too, but let's just say they're toned down.

I blame the stuff with Judy from the last movie on Ehren Kruger. The fact that a Kruger script is getting any kind of praise is noteworthy. I'm still skeptical.

Well, he did write Arlington Road, which has a positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. So maybe he's done it again. The story honestly looks amazing on paper, from what I've read, so there's a real chance that this will be good. There's a lot of positive buzz over on the TFW2005 message boards, for example, from all the folks who saw the leaked comic book, so a lot of people like what we're seeing.

As I've said earlier in the thread I've gone from completely wanting to ignore this film (thanks to the near literal migraine headache I got from ROTF) to being almost on board. I'm looking forward to Peter David's novelization.

i heard that the Twins were in it, but got cut from the edit.

i saw their alt-modes in on-set filming photos, but that proves squat, like their alt-modes being in a trailer does. plenty of trailers have stuff in that's not in the movie: Generations had fucking clips from TNG episodes in its trailer for chrissakes!

I just finished reading those comic adaption spoilers from the last page. Wow. I have to say that does sound impressive and seems like this film will make up for the last one.
