Seems the Gagarin is accosted by two distinct sets of Klingon ships, first the bulkier ones, then by a flock of Birds of Prey, and the Discovery saves her from the latter. We've seen BoPs in the hands of Kol's allies so far, even if L'Rell seemed to try and take credit for the Corvan II action by such ships. Will there be Klingons fighting each other here?

The Bottom scene was previewed during After Trek, none of the Character's dialogue indicated it was spores. The tricorder said it read exactly the same as the rest of the forest and not a separate life form.
Translation from Latin to English: "If you want peace, prepare for war".
I thought it meant “If you own a P08 Luger, buy lots of 9×19mm Parabellum ammo”.
