Really hope they get rid of the pop music-- it felt almost as cheesy as the Enterprise song. I honestly don't have a great feeling.
Did people suddenly forget how trailers work? Just because the trailer features a certain type of song doesn't mean that's how the show's music will be handled.

I happened to think the song meshed particularly well with the events in the trailer. But then I've liked Jetta's take on I'd Love to Change the World since it was used to great effect in Episode 4x01 of Person of Interest.

I think the past several Star Trek trailers (not just DSC but Beyond as well) have proven that the purpose of trailers is greatly misunderstood.

Well it had lots of s'plosions and pew-pew. Looks like JJ Trek to me. Just mising the bewbs.

The production values are high with good FX but the trailer was choppy, confusing and told me little about what was going to happen and didn't show the ship.

I want exploration, characters and story out of Trek. Will they exploring social issues while they are blowing things up? If this was on Netflix or TV I would watch it but ultimately still not going to subscribe to CBS for this.

Because Star Trek trailers have never been full of pew pew and explosions before.

No no. Clearly you don't remember the facts as they are in my head and not in reality.

Seriously, earlier I saw a guy argue that the fact there was a line about vengeance showed it wasn't true Star Trek. That The Wrath of Khan is one of the most popular Star Trek movies around is clearly lost on them. Then again, some people are going to hate it because it's new and different.

God those trailers are awful and the voice over guys were given some downright dodgy and in some cases false lines to read.

The same people who claim JJ Trek is too action based, while ignoring Kirk acting like a TV James Bond in TOS, fighting everything in sight

Even Roddenberry seemed to forget his own work, talking about how humanity aren't violent in the 23rd century but TOS is full of aggressive behaviour from the crew even when it's not necessarily called for.

I love trailer voice guy, Cha'kottay and Tuwok!

I found it odd that Chakotay, Kes and even Tuvok's names were pronounced differently.
If I had the skills I'd make an old school trailer for Discovery, with the voiceover character descriptions.

How is Janeway one of the most respected Captain's in "the" Starfleet (in the ), when Voyager is her first command.
