It cost $200 million according to The-Numbers. Also note that the box office grosses were higher overseas than domestically, which means the studio took a smaller cut of those grosses then if the numbers had been reversed.
Still, I enjoyed the movie, and would be happy if they made a sequel. It certainly wasn't a box office bomb, by any stretch of the imagination, so a sequel is possible.
I certainly wouldn't mind seeing some more Tron as long as the story and charcters move on from being an excuse to show off pretty CGI.

Based on the Flynn lives shorts which were rumoured to be the genesis of the plot for "Tron 3" I am excited along with the possibility of seeing Cillian Murphy as mentioned as Dillinger Jr.
I've done that, usually in zombie threads. It freaks me out that I can re-create something I said two years earlier practically word for word and not remember that I've said it before.
Im up for more Tron, i would love to see a possible camo with Warner if possible in the next one.
I wonder if Daft Punk would be on board as well, or if they'd get someone else to do the music. Any suggestions?
Their Legacy score was phenomenal (they were snubbed at the Oscars, IMO), and Disney would be nuts not to rehire them.
I don't see why they wouldn't be back on board. They were approached by the director and Kosinski has been quoted as saying "How could you not at least go to these guys?" My guess is if they have the time they'll be back. It will be interesting to see what direction the film goes in since the film no longer has it's "Tron Legacy" writers.
I think the film should be about Sam Flynn fighting the corporate Satan. He should, like, take over his dad's company and devote it to making the best GNU/Linux distro in history, with unprecedented hardware support and user-friendly like no other. Richard Stallman should play his personal Yoda or some shit. All this in glorious 2D.
