That any non-canon pairing or situation is the product of someone's imagination. Archer/T'Pol is no more "over-active" than Malcolm/Hoshi, or HEA Trip/T'Pol, or any other. What's your point?Would that include other pairings? How about Travis and Hoshi? Malcolm and Hoshi? Malcolm/T'Pol? Archer and Hoshi? I've seen stories about all of them, many of them beautifully written.
Aye, there's the rub. If we all were more accepting of differing points of view, and avoided attaching negative connotations to opinions with which we disagree, the world would turn a little more smoothly.Works in theory, but some people can't resist the need to impose their opinions on others. Some think TATV was a holodeck program that Barclay screwed up, and Trip and T'Pol lived happily ever after; others figure Trip really did off himself in the finale. It all depends on your interpretation, and everyone's interpretation is valid, if it works for them.
You weren't here back then. It was a dark time of great intolerance. And to wrap this up, I'll add that I've heard many terms which are simply ridiculous, but the "shipper war" is seriously whack.
The fact that you apologized when you said your initial "over-active imagination" statement was a signal that you knew you might be stepping on some toes....In conclusion, my saying someone has an overactive imagination in not necessarily a bad thing. After all, the only reason we have Star Trek is because of some very overactive imaginations.![]()
I think as you get to know me better, you will notice I use some strong words. I don't do that to step on toes or to get a reaction, it's just part of my "style" which is very "New York City" (we New Yorkers have never been good at watching our P's and Q's). You will also notice that I am quick to complement and quicker to clarify myself if I'm being misunderstood. Also, I'm rarely rude to someone, unless I'm treated that way of course. If you were here with me as I write this, you would know there was no malice intended. The fact that you apologized when you said your initial "over-active imagination" statement was a signal that you knew you might be stepping on some toes.
All we ask is that you all make an effort to be accepting of opinions that differ from your own, rather than judgmental. No one's opinion is right or wrong, better or worse, than anyone else's. It is simply their opinion.
Thank you, Middleman, for your clarification. Much appreciated. You know, I don't know exactly what the "shipper wars" were, nor do I care to find out.
The only thing I can say is this:
"Trip & T'Pol" = Canon
"Archer & T'Pol" = Over active imagination
Please accept my apologies if this posting starts another "shipper war", but it was something I just had to say.
Now I get you, that's just the way I "talk".This is the post I was referring to:

I don't think he (or she?) was meaning to be a toolshed and if this were any other forum, no one would have flinched. Considering this forum's history, though, I could understand if someone would assume otherwise. I'm more than thankful this place has moved beyond that BS now.jeez, all middleman said was "overactive imagination" don't see why he should have to apologize for that.
Maybe you hold ho's?I'm a he. "toolshed"?
It was not a shower scene, it was decon, and it was not lame, it was fine art. The camera work was flawless (closeups baby, especially the 'ear thing,' gotta love the ear thing).Even though there was this lame shower scene with T'Pol and Trip (if I remember correctly).
You're talking about "Broken Bow", right? Now, I can definitely see the vibe in "knocking you on your ass" moment, but somehow I don't see Archer as a S&M kind of guy. T'Pol? Sure. That mean bitchy season one T'Pol was a natural born dominatrix. But T/A had a different kind of chemistry, which worked better, at least from my point of view.
You are right, the Decon scene was fantastic. I know many complained about it, but I thought it was very well done. Also, from my POV, the Decon scene was my first indication that B&B were going to pair the two of them eventually. It was a "no brainer" IMO, the chemistry was just staring at you right in the face. The shower scene from season 3 was actually one of the best filmed "romance" scenes I've seen on (done for) TV in a long time.It was not a shower scene, it was decon, and it was not lame, it was fine art. The camera work was flawless (closeups baby, especially the 'ear thing,' gotta love the ear thing).
OK, don't you think the dominatrix thing is stretching it just a bit? You're talking about "Broken Bow", right? Now, I can definitely see the vibe in "knocking you on your ass" moment, but somehow I don't see Archer as a S&M kind of guy. T'Pol? Sure. I've been told I'm a good pruner...or were they calling me a prune....I can't remember which.Maybe then you prune well. (I'm sorry, I have a ton of tool puns, and am trying to stay away from the obvious ones.)
In my eyes, Archer & T'Pol had all the chemestry of oil and water. It might be good for salad, but that's about it.
Different opinions make the world go around. Everyone takes away something different from a book, movie, TV show....Tachyon, I also felt the decon scene was gag-worthy. So, you're not alone.
That's okay. These green orbs think that Trip/T'Pol was the worst couple with the worst chemistry in any Star Trek episode (all incarnations) and possibly any television show ever shown. Ever. Strong words, yes. But true to me.In my eyes, Archer & T'Pol had all the chemestry of oil and water. It might be good for salad, but that's about it.
Maybe we can move along?
Easy Commie, deep breaths (and grab a paper bag just to be safe)These green orbs think that Trip/T'Pol was the worst couple with the worst chemistry in any Star Trek episode (all incarnations) and possibly any television show ever shown. Ever. Strong words, yes. But true to me.
Mach5, we've been over this "ridicule the poster's opinion, then claim innocence" routine. You doth protest too much, and I don't buy it. And now another poster has riffed off your mocking. I am concerned. You've been asked, more than once, to stop. This is your last friendly. Please. STOP.You're talking about "Broken Bow", right? [note: here there be no sarcasm! Sarcasm = evil, humor = friendship, plus I actually meant what I said.]

Isn't it great that the shipper wars are far behind us?These green orbs think that Trip/T'Pol was the worst couple with the worst chemistry in any Star Trek episode (all incarnations) and possibly any television show ever shown. Ever.
