Toughest Captain

So it the general consensus something like?

1-Sisko/Kirk (joint, I'll admit it's very close here)
3-Picard
4-Archer
5-Janway

Nothing against Janeway, she's a good fighter, but Sisko would mash her in a pulp, Kirk is about as tough as Sisko, Picard comes after those two, and we know that Picard can take one assassins even in his advanced age. While Archer has be shown to be 'ok' is swining the punches, he can definitely take a lot, probably more than he can give out, and between him and Janeway, I think he has better fighting stamina, or at least stamina to take a beating long enough to wear down the opponent.

That's at least my reasoning, feel free to pick it apart.

As far as first officers, Spock would mop the floor with every one of them. However, just don't let Kira hit somebody with a double fist. Apparently, Kira's double fist hit has some sort of superpower. Every time she punches somebody like that, they go down unconscious. Maybe some sort of sonic disruption? Is this a Bajoran superpower we've never heard about? If so, how did the Cardassians conquer them so easily?

I don't know, I swear the double fist manouvre is a Starfleet standard close combat trick from the 24th Century onwards, maybe Kira just picked it up from them? Might explain why Starfleet doesn't bother with hand to hand weapons

The Bajorans only developed their terrorist and fighting skills after they were occupied by the Cardassians.

Maybe they know where exactly you need to kick a Cardie in order to disable them?

This thread is toughest Captain. Loosley that would include any person who was CAPTAIN at anytime. Spock was Captain more than once so he would be considered in this list.

I still think Khan, who loosley, was Captain of the Enterprise can beat them all. Or is Khan too much of a stretch?

Kira-T'Pol (hard call -- T'Pol is probably stronger but Kira's more of a fighter). Way too much fun to think about.

I'd call it a semi-draw, based on T'Pol's knowledge of Sous Mahar. Kira might be standing, but barely.

Janeway vs. Torres-Torres

Torres vs. Seven of Nine-Torres

Janeway vs Picard-Draw

Janeway vs. Sisko-Janeway

Kirk Vs Picard-Picard

Worf vs. Riker-Worf

Worf vs. Kirk-Worf

Worf vs. Sisko-Worf

This would make a great fighting game by Capcom.

Torres is tough but she's not even in the same class as Seven of Nine. Seven easily bested Tuvok in "Raven" - even though he had the element of surprise. Data is the only one who could beat Seven.

And Janeway > Sisko?

Sisco if it was a staight forward fight but if they could use their wits, tactics and sheer survival skills I'd say Janeway.

I don't think Sisko/Kirk is that close, I would definitely give Sisko edge, for the obvious reason - he is taller and bigger and has the advantage in physical strength; while they are evenly matched in other respects: they're on par when it comes to physical fitness (not bad, not the greatest either) and since they have similar backgrounds, both being Starfleet officers, I don't see why Kirk would have any advantage in training or fighting skills, unless Starfleet training has so much deteriorated in 100 years, which I doubt. I think you overrate Kirk. Sure, he fought many times in TOS and won most of the time, when he was not fighting Spock, but that was because he was the hero and the hero had to beat the bad guys (unless the plot required otherwise, as in "Omega Glory").

I'm not sure who would win between Kirk and Picard, they seem about evenly matched. Picard did not fight that many times, but when he did, he was pretty good, just as Kirk was in TOS (and for similar reasons - see above ). Maybe you're thinking 34-year old Kirk vs 60-year old Picard, in which case I agree Kirk would probably have an advantage, but if you choose to have them fight at a more comparable age, than it might be opposite: they're similar in size, but Picard is physically fitter, even in advanced age.

But if you DID consider Data, since he was captain of the Sutherland briefly, he has taken machine gun bullets and not been phased. He was more than a match for the Enterprise crew when he went all wacko.

Data could squash Spock, and Sisko.
