Total casting thoughts?

They're not dry and stoic. ;) That's all a cover for the truth (which T'Pol revealed to Trip) - Vulcans have more violent emotions than humans, hence the logic fetish. The fact that they make such a big deal about suppressing emotions speaks volumes.

There's a difference between having a fling with a human and considering them proper enough to be a mate. Hence; to also cite ENT, 'Harbinger', where T'Pol seduces Tucker but nothing really comes of it.

True, as Spock observes, they don't choose thier life mates very logically, but knowing them I suspect they would given the chance. T'Pring sure did. :vulcan: (And Amanda was most certainly not the woman to whom Sarek was betrothed from birth; that was probably the Vulcan priestess who was the mother of Sybok. Hey, who would make a good Sybok - Daniel Craig? ;))

I'm actually pretty down with Winona. I'm also excited about Simon Pegg, he's great.

My two biggest problems are Anton Yelchin as Chekov; I just don't see it, and Bruce Greenwood as Pike.

The main reason I don't like Greenwood is because I feel that Chris Pine looks almost dead on Pike, not Kirk.
