TOS Tricorder question

Does anybody know how many Wah Chang Tricorders were made for TOS? There are many instances where three are visible in one frame during TOS episodes (i.e. The Apple has many of these shots) and this got me wondering how many were produced. I am not counting things like the "Cereal Box" tricorder in "Shore Leave."

There is a lot of data r.e. the number of communicators produced and much info as well r.e. the phaser evolution. Not so much about the tricorders.

Anybody know how many were made and their ultimate fates?

I know The Making of Star Trek has a reproduction of a bill WC sent to Star Trek. I don't quite remember what it was for, or how many.

Will check when I get home.

Wah's bill for the original 2 hero and 8 dummy communicators has been widely reproduced, and I wonder if this is what you are thinking of. I have not seen a Tricorder bill, and would love to if one exists.
