Okay. This is the best mannered "New FX Thread" I've seen since being on the BBS. Where is the yelling and incivility?
I watched one and was so horrified I've ignored Trek Remastered ever since.
Exactly so. But we'll have this pointless discussion another thousand timesI just made my colleague some tea, but it turns out they like coffee! What are your thoughts on coffee v. tea?
Furthermore, all of the original flyby shots were done by dollying, panning and tilting the camera while the 11-foot, 225-pound model remained stationary in front of a blue screen. That set-up limited the range and speed of the ship’s apparent movement. The problem with too much of today’s CGI is that it suffers from BYC Syndrome — Because You Can.Seems to me the CGI team took the time to make their ship model do a few things that the old physical model couldn't do, because the heavy model had that huge rod suspending it for the camera, and one side gaping open with wires running everywhere.

And what about oysters vs. snails?I just made my colleague some tea, but it turns out they like coffee! What are your thoughts on coffee v. tea?
Coffee. Whole bean from 40 lb. burlap bags, the ORIGINAL way. None of this fancy-Dan, Star Buck Reroastered "Coffee, Ground, Inside" process (CGI) crap for me!

Yeah, whatever. I like coffee.
Trekkies are going to go on with this nonsensical effort to assert some ownership - emotional if not real - of Star Trek until the first and second generation of Trek fans dies out. That's not too many decades hence, of course - and then, not one word posted on these forums on any of these topics will be of interest to anyone ever again.
It's just a TV show.

Why do you post here, if it's all so pointless?
Just ignore the old ball sack. It works for me.![]()
