TOS Officer's Cabin

This is sweet!!!

Does she have a sister ship - the SS Saint Pius X ? :techman:
:wtf: Whoa...that's freaky...I actually DID name the first ship of this class the SS Pious X!!

That picture also lets you see what this class originally looked like, before the 2250 refit. Notice the Daedalus-style nacelles. ;)

Great minds think alike ;)

:drool::drool::techman::techman:

This keeps getting better and better!!!

They sure do think alike!! You were probably imagining a TMP version of this ship...because for some reason, out of the blue, I went ahead and made one. :wtf:

Fantastic job on the cabin! Now you need the food slot and the safe built into opposite sides of the divider (or did only the captain have the safe?)

BTW, loved the gif! I'm always jonesing for TOS screen readouts.

Keep us posted, please.:techman:

That's really great! It must have been such hard work. I really like the curved drawers and the TOS mirror. Well done. :techman:

We were going to do something like that, but it would have been too complicated (and expensive), so we rationalized that since the Benedict XVI is only a lowly spaceship-class vessel, it wouldn't have all the ameneties that the bigger ships have.

I too am always looking for TOS readouts - the TNG monopoly over the genre makes it EXTREMELY difficult to do, since they're so rare, so I definately know how you feel. :)

I'm going to see if I can design just a few more, specially-made for my ship... :techman:

Ummm... except the name is PIUS, not "Pious."

"-ous" is an English adjectival ending meaning "having ---, full of ---, characterized by ---" (e.g., "beautious").

The Latin NAME ENDING is "-us" (Demetrius, Regulus, Crassius, PIUS.)

Sorry, but names misspelled with an "-ous" ending really trigger one of my onomastic rant buttons. ;)

Oh -- darned cool room. If I didn't have too many bookshelves to deal with...

*facepalm* Blast, I really should have known that...as a devout Catholic and someone who HAS studied Latin, I'm ashamed of myself. :(

On a side note...anyone ever notice that St. PiUS X looks a heck of a lot like Edward James Olmos (now with 98% less pockmarks! (TM) )?

Holy cow! Pope Adama!!!

That's amazing, I never noticed it, but... dang. Yer right!

Hmm, I won't deny the resemblence, but to me, I see more of actor David Caruso who plays Horatio Caine of "CSI: Miami" (something about the shape of his mouth and the "philtrum" under his nose).

Sincerely,

Bill
