This episode involved a transporter accident that produced five Scottys. Typically short on money for special effect, Roddenberry hired four extras to play the other four Scottys.

Roddenberry: "I sure the fans won't notice."

REDSHIRT: I feel like we've been working on this for months.

 

Scotty, contemplating which is worse, an Englishman pretending to be French, or a Canadian pretending to be Scottish.



Scotty, still pondering the dilmma.
