OK, I was initially excited about this series, but I'm getting bored now. We're now SIX episodes in with zero aliens and no clue who or what or how is behind this! That's a little ridiculous.

I kinda peg this is a symptom of "television times"--look at how Lost unfolded--scant answers and more mysteries and anti-climactic payoff. Networks seem more eager to draw things out than provide a fulfilling payoff. I think it's just the nature of network TV these days.

I wouldn't be shocked if everyone except Jack died.

I think it'll be the reverse--Jack will die. Since that's never been an option historically with Torchwood given his immortality, it seems a likely climax given he is now mortal again.

My biggest gripe about this episode: why does everyone keep car keys in the fold-up visor??? Who DOES this in real life?!

I think all remaining original characters will be killed off leaving Starz with an all American cast for the next season.

I don't think RTD will let Jack die. He was granted eternal life by the Almighty Rose and RTD would not want to make it look as Rose's Command was negated.

That's for sure I think RTD fell in love with his own character Rose.

But INDIVIDUAL episodes of Lost were engaging. Something HAPPENED in them. So, I think it's letting the writers of Miracle Day off the hook to blame the network. Or the state of TV today. Which I disagree with your assessment. I do agree that in serialized stories, they do have a tendency to delay major moves, but, things still happen. Things move forward.

And with Miracle Day, they have 10 episodes to tell the story. It's not open ended. It's not 60 episodes. It's 10. Networks delay because they want the show to last YEARS. This story is 10 weeks. Period. Torchwood itself might get another series, but it won't continue this story.

I just think there wasn't enough story created from the beginning.

I reckon they'll kill off RTD at the end of the series and then do what they want next series.

So you think STARZ will actually murder the creator (and main writer) of Torchwood just so they can do what they want next year? That's going pretty far in the TV business to get your way.

Yep. In fact he's been suspiciously quiet of late, I wouldn't be surprised if he's already been offed.

I think Jack will die because Jack alone is keeping everyone alive. Then the miracle will negate, Jack will become immortal again, and he'll come back to life. At a minimum, they'd likely keep his death ambiguous to leave open the possibility of him coming back to life.

However it's been implied that Jack will die in the year five billion and fiftythree.
