Top ten worst episodes?

And in any case I think they were intended to be a bit exaggerated and cartoonish, to better contrast their shallow, greedy attitude with that of the 24th century.

Of course, there's also the problem that this cartoonish and comic B-plot just jack-knifes into what is supposed to be a serious and dramatic story with the Romulans and Borg, thereby robbing it of any kind of tension.

The Neutral Zone is one of the few episodes where the lack of connection between the A-plot and B-plot doesn't bother me. As I already explained, I liked the B-plot quite a bit, and I also liked the A-plot with the Romulans. This episode was my introduction to the Romulans, so that might be part of the reason why I liked seeing them so much.

I'm curious to see how my opinions change when I rewatch the series later this year. All of my opinions right now are based upon a single viewing of the series between summer of 2010 and spring of 2011. There are a number of episodes that I've completely forgotten, and a lot of others that I only somewhat remember. I'm sure that after rewatching the show I'm going to add a few more episodes to my worst list.

Well, I thought that the finale they gave us was fun, interesting, exciting, and I liked the way it connected all the way back to the first episode of the series, Encounter at Farpoint, which is another episode I like quite a bit. I'm sorry it wasn't your cup of tea.

Actually, if you don't like Q then I'm surprised that there aren't more Q episodes on your list. Q Who?, Hide and Q, Deja Q, Qpid, True Q.

Actually I liked the Season 6 episode with the girl wearing all pink on the shirt. Which episode was that? I also liked "Hide and Q". It takes more than Q making an appearance in an episode for me to hate the episode.

And yeah, the connection to the "Encounter at Farpoint" was the only reason "All Good Things..." sparked my interest in the first place.

I think the episode with the Q girl that you're thinking of is True Q. That was actually one of my least favorite Q episodes, haha. Go figure. I liked Hide and Q quite a bit, though. I can't wait to rewatch it when season one comes to
blu ray later this year! :)

STNG:

1. Shades of Gray
2. Emergence
3. Manhunt
4. The Loss
5. Man of the People
6. The Royale
7. Samaritan Snare
8. Haven
9. Realm of Fear
10. Liaisons

For TNG I would have to say:

"In Theory"
"Data's Day"
"Night Terrors"
"The Neutral Zone"

That's all that I can think of right now.

1.) Shades of Grey - not even an episode

>Sigh<

Of course it is. Every American TV show seems to have some kind of "clip" show (Friends, Simpsons, Frasier, A-Team.. the list goes on). You might not like them, might see them as a "cheap" get out (which of course it is, the TV industry is a business with budgets etc after all), but "not even an episode"??? Come on.

As for the topic at hand... challenging, as TNG is one of my all-time favourite TV series. But ten episodes I consider poor (no particular order, except No.1):

10) Justice
9) Angel One
8) Manhunt
7) Masks
6) Emergence
5) Haven
4) Cost of Living
3) Force Of Nature (can't believe this hasn't gotten more votes!)
2) The Outrageous Okona

The #1 worst ever episode is definitely "Code Of Honour"!!

I really tried to make it ten, but I found that I really felt about the same about all of the following episodes (no particular order):

Code of Honor
Angel One
We'll Always Have Paris
The Dauphin
The Royale
Up the Long Ladder
Captain's Holiday
Tin Man
Devil's Due
Cost of Living
Imaginary Friend
Aquiel
Homeward

"Tapestry" I didn't like because of seeing Picard get murdered...

Now as far as "All Good Things..."

"Tapestry" was one of the best episodes ever aired, certainly the best Q episode.

As for "All Good Things", I agree in spirit. It was a bit boring, but one must remember it was not a true series ending episode as the cast started filming "Generations" just a few days after closing out principal photography on "All Good Things". It was therefore more of a transition episode, only closing out the TV series but linking to the films.

From "best" to worst....

10.) The Masterpiece Society - boring.

9.) We'll Always Have Paris - more boring.

8.) When the Bough Breaks - mind-numbingly boring

7.) Who Watches the Watchers - so unsubtle it's laughable

6.) The Outrageous Okana - just ridiculous

5.) The Neutral Zone - a boring A-plot and an offensive B-plot

4.) Justice - They could have killed off Wesley but didn't.

3.) Up the Long Ladder - offensive

2.) Code of Honor - offensive

1.) Shades of Grey - not even an episode

I agree.

More than ten, but this is my "too boring -- or too something -- to bother watching again" list.

The Battle
The Big Goodbye
Where Silence Has Lease
The Royale
Samaritan Snare
Shades of Gray
The Nth Degree
Qpid
Cause and Effect
Time's Arrow
Liaisons
Interface
Sub Rosa

Episodes that are well done but way too disturbing for me to watch again:

Chain of Command Pt 2
Violations

10. Force of Nature: Complete. And utter. Bullshit.
9. Aquiel: Boring. Pedestrian. Blah.
8. Cost of Living: Ugh. I think Mrs. Troi only had one good episode.
7. Eye of the Beholder: A rough episode.
6. Dark Page: Ugh, and embarrassing for Majel.
5. Imaginary Friend: I'm not sure this episode even had a point.
4. Final Mission, pretty much a worthless episode that ruins the at that point some-what worthwhile Wesley character.
3. Sub Rosa, a stupid idea to turn a trashy grocery-store romance novel into an episode. "Brilliant."
2. Masks, the absurdity of this episode is epic and was just an excuse for Spiner to chew scenery (possibly to buy him a post-Trek career.)
1. Shades of Gray, by a light year.
