Top 5 TNG

Oh, no particular order here, but my favorites would have to be

-- Timescape
-- Cause and Effect
-- All Good Things
-- Tapestry
-- Gambit

Ah gambit nice choice. Its an excellent episode in terms of showcasing Picards personality traits, I also like the adventure romp aspect to the story, its a fun yet serious TNG story. Cause and effect is an intriguing analysis of time paradoxes.

In no particular order:

Best of Both Worlds - Part 1
Yesterday's Enterprise
Tapestry
All Good Things... (Parts 1 &2 - this is one episode, afterall.)
Measure of a Man

1. Best Of Both Worlds Part I
2. Darmok
3. The Inner Light
4. Yesterday's Enterprise
5. Measure Of A Man

and i have to mention "Chain Of Command Part II" cuz I consider those six to be the holy sextuplet of TNG. All equally good and all better than everything else on the series.

Always a very difficult choice, but I would say...

1) Where No One Has Gone Before
2) Yesterday's Enterprise
3) Best Of Both Worlds
4) Darmok
5) The Inner Light

^ The High Ground would get more love from me if its ending hadn't been so "Hollywood" -- and if the characters (and Federation) had to deal with the fallout from the episode's events.

A pretty standard list:

1.) 5.25 - The Inner Light
2.) 3.26 - The Best of Both Worlds
3.) 3.15 - Yesterday's Enterprise
4.) 4.02 - Family
5.) 6.15 - Tapestry

In no particular order:

*Best Of Both Worlds (I always count both parts together)
*Yesterday's Enterprise
*Parallels
*Tapestry
*The Inner Light

If I got to do a SECOND group of five, it would probably include:
*The Defector
*The Measure of a Man
*Deja Q
*Cause and Effect
*First Contact

Best Of Both Worlds
Yesterday's Enterprise
The Defector
Tin Man
Boobytrap

It's had to leave Relics off that list but I thought Tin Man and Boobytrap had the advantage of better music in them.

Boobytrap

WHAT THE HELL!???
That was one of the worst episodes of TNG I have ever seen, 50% of the dialogue is mindless technobabble. Everything from the scenes on the bridge to Geordi talking to that hologram.
What do you like about it??

I did like the music, the fact that Picard lead the away team over Riker's objections and he piloted the ship at the end. Geordi also had a nice plotline that was followed up on in Galaxy's Child. The visual effects were well done and it had a non technological solution, overall I thought it worked out rather well and it had some nice character development in it.

In no particular order:

1. Starship Mine
2. The Inner Light
3. The Most Toys
4. A Matter of Perspective
5. Best of Both Worlds pt1

Other top episodes:

The Ensigns of Command
Disaster
Elementary Dear Data/Ship in a Bottle
Booby Trap/Galaxy's Child
The Perfect Mate
Conundrum
Frame of Mind
Cause and Effect
The Measure of a Man
The Masterpiece Society

I liked the Geordi/Leah Brahms part of the ep too. Together with Galaxy's Child I think it makes for a pretty satisfying two-parter.

That's what I like most about it. The technobabble that usually saves the day would have ended up killing them all. The non-technobabble simple solution is what saved the day. It was perfectly done! I also loved the mood and atmosphere of the episode, it's probably in my top 10 episodes, but the topic called for top 5 only. :)

Here! Here! I, too, love Booby Trap. But I guess it's more or less due to the fact that Geordi is my second favorite character from The Next Generation. :shifty:
