Too Old to Dance?

This story has appeared in Australian papers

A COLD Chisel fan has been fined $450 and told he is "too old to dance" after his double fist-pumping moves had him removed from a concert by security guards.
Richard Fuller said the 4000-strong crowd at the October 18 concert in Townsville was "cheering him on" as the 43-year-old got out of his seat and danced in the aisles.
"I didn't think I was annoying anyone and everyone was cheering for me," he said.
"I was standing up on my chair double fist-pumping, but I didn't want to block people's view ... that's why I went into the aisle. I'd been dancing the whole time but they took me out as the band was finishing. I missed the last song."

Rest of story here

The bloke was not fined for dancing but for slapping one of the security guards. However I would like people to answer two questions

1) Should people be allowed to dance in the aisle at rock concerts?

and

2) Is a 43 year old too old to dance?

Many years ago, when I was a teenager I went to a Bo Diddley concert. Most of the people at the concert were in their 30s or 40s. At the start of the concert we were all in our seats but "the oldies" got up and started dancing in the aisles. When they started to move some of the seats so that there would be more room for dancing I got up and joined in the dancing. In the end about half of the area of the hall was being used for dancing. No-one seemed to mind.

As long as no one gets jostled or shoved, why the hell not? And, no, no one is too old to dance.

If anyone needs to get through the aisle, they can just tell the dancing guy to get out of the way. Not a big deal. People dance at concerts, at least they have at all the concerts I've been to. This is silly.

2) Is a 43 year old too old to dance?

2 seconds out of the womb is too old in my book. My wife and I have concocted stories at weddings - sprained ankle, knees acting up, etc. - to get out of it.

Do you just dislike it yourselves or dislike it when other people do it? I think dancing is one of the most delightful things in this world.

We hate it with a passion.

I think football is one of the most delightful things in the world.

When I rule the world, I will have jet packs fitted to everyone. When someone annoys me, I will activate the jet pack by remote control and watch them learn to fly until the fuel runs out.

What has this to do with bad dancing? Wait and see.... Wait. And see...

This thread reminds me of an episode of Cybill Shepherd's sitcom back in the '90s. When she and friend Maryann (Christine Baranski) go to a retro disco party and try some of their old dance moves, Maryann says, "I think I fractured my groove thing."

Wow, I haven't thought of that show in years. It was pretty funny in the first couple of seasons, especially.
