There was a man sitting opposite me on the train today with a really REALLY good suit on and matching tie, etc. He stood out like a beacon in the usual commuter dross. Even his wedding ring looked bespoke. I immediately thought of Holdfast. Not the wedding ring thing of course, but everything else just sang with good taste.

Wait, a size 16? Are sizes different today? I remember Buffalo Bill cutting up size 14 girls and those girls were certainly chunkier than Marilyn. Oh yeah. A size 16 in the 50's or 60's has morphed into a size 4 or 6 now, at least in the US. Seriously, check out a dress from that era at any vintage clothing store.
