Tonsillectomies

    Good news: the tonsils stay. Bad news: I'm fighting a nasty sinus infection.

    Could be worse. If the antibiotics and steroids take effect, I'll be back to normal in a week or so. :)

    I hope your experience is better than my grandmother's. She had hers out when she was in her late teens (probably ~1920 or so). Her father couldn't afford $10 for the anesthetic, so it was done with no numbing or anything. As you can imagine, it was a miserable experience. Be thankful for modern medicine.

    I've definitely dodged the tonsillectomy. However, it seems that this sinus infection is a stubborn one. Is it bad when a combination of OTC medicine, Flonase, methylprednisolone and a strong antibiotic don't seem to be making a dent? I'm still voiceless and feeling blah...
