"Tomorrow Is Yesterday" Question

It didn't, for better or worse.

I think the better. Changing the stock footage in this episode would have been too much. As certainly the best teaser of the entire series, it shouldn't have been changed. They just cleaned up the footage the best they could and ran with it, which was definitely the right call.

There is nothing in the script or the episode that says the air base has to be in Nebraska.

As for Captain Christopher not having a wingman, that is a bigger problem. I guess we'll have to leave that as a situation not addressed in the original episode.

How about the locations of the bases?

That's not Nebraska in the background
But it does look a lot like the country around Edwards Air Force Base.

I believe the footage was from George Air Force Base, near Victorville CA. There was a F-104 tactical fighter wing there at the time. The TAC shield on the tail would be consistent, but I can't find anything for definitive confirmation right now.

That would fit. George AFB (decommissioned in 1992 and now operating as Southern California Logistics Airport) was only about 30 or 40 miles southeast of the Edwards air facilities and the Mojave Desert terrain would be very similar.

Awesome! It's great to get historical trivia from people who actually know what they're talking about. :)
