To All Mothers...

Well that’s me in a cold sweat for no reason! Sensation returning to my left arm too.

Where ever in the universe it’s mother’s day, it’s not mother’s day in Britain.
Well, there IS a wedding going on that is getting attention...

:)

At the time of the OP it was Mother’s Day in Australia.

My youngest son took me out to dinner on Saturday evening to celebrate MD early. I had crumbed scallops with salad (my favourite meal)

My youngest son bought me a giraffe and my other son gave me money for a book. I did not hear from my oldest son but that is part of the norm. I only hear from him when it is his turn for a present.

My daughters took me out for a special Mother's Day buffet. It was sooo good, but the best part was having a long chin wag with my girls. Yesterday, my oldest daughter had a cookout at her home for us all. Played with my granddaughters and had a great time. My son is getting me a birdbath once we decide on one. Family fun time is the best! We rarely get all of us together.

my mom was part amused part disappointed because my siblings had both forgotten about it (my brother lives in the same house!), so I gave both a nudge via text message. The first time that their cell phones ever proved useful. :D
We'll hold a little celebration next weekend when the whole family comes together for Whitsun. Propably go out for lunch or have a BBQ (the prob is always to keep the dog from roasting himself)

Took Dear Wife to local wine tastings about 13 miles away and FAR from the Tourist traps of Napa Valley.. had an excellent time
with her..she got to "taste" (aka consume) a lot of wine while I simply watched..had lunch out, after we got home..she talked on the phone for hours (which is her favorite activity)..

We stick to the traditional Mothering Sunday. The rest of the world follows that American nonsense..:ack::p
Other cultures' traditions aren't nonsense, I hope you really don't feel that way, but because of historical intolerance I never really feel such is an appropriate joke even? From what I understand, in the United Kingdom mothering day is a religious thing based on Lent and mother church while in America it's about celebrating motherhood?

I do hope everyone had a lovely mother's day, whether you celebrated a month and a half ago or yesterday. :) I always so love reading everyone's stories, and @Miss Chicken I am so deeply sorry hearing about your son. :(

I met my boyfriend's mother yesterday for a mother's day brunch, she is an absolutely wonderful person, I was so very delighted to meet her. I gave my little baby spider a treat yesterday, she came out of her little cave quite a bit and looked like she was saying hi to me, lol. She is just sooo adorable.

The American culture can take a joke or too...you already run tings globally
