TNG's Bridge

We really only ever saw Tasha and Worf utilizing that one segment behind the Captain's chair, though. That might just be the segment that's relevant to the duties their perform and the other displays were there to give others an accessible place to look at information without crowding around that one spot.

You guys are forgetting a few things. One, to have more stations means more extras to populate them, or you end up with a lot of empty chairs. That's an extra and unnecessary expense. One of the reasons the rear stations is where they are is they're out of the way unless the story requires them. On TV it always comes down to momey: same reason the ship dropped out of warp most of the time when there were scenes required in the Ready Room or Observation Lounge, due to the added expense and trouble of adding in the warp star effects.

One thing--about tactical having a chair: The tactical station is so broad (you can see it in Squiggyfm's image) that the chair for the tactical officer would have to be a rolling chair (like at the helm on Voyager). But with that wide open area, with the ramps and everything, would you really want a rolling chair? I think having the tactical officer standing makes the most sense for this bridge configuration. On Voyager, the tactical station was much more compact, so if Tuvok had had a chair (I don't think he did) that would have been OK.

Reading your post, I had a funny image of Worf on a rolling chair, trying to keep his dignity as his chair rolls down one side or the other like a bobsled.

The grandest of all..just look at the expanse of that ceiling.

The pattern those ceiling ribs make is really nice. Sadly, they were so thin they seemed to get lost in the lights, and they only thickened them up for Generations.
