I find myself intrigued by this novel from reading the blurb. Perhaps certain ethical questions would also be raised such as the creation of living beings with consciousness simply through holographic programming or instructions given ("Create an adversary capable of defeating Data"). And not just with holographic emitters (which can be turned off, lost, destroyed), but with real matter. Perhaps, Hitler could be reborn. Perhaps Einstein or Zephram Cochrane. Perhaps another Picard.
