She was quite a poem, in her day ...I think Denise Crosby looks so beautiful in the shots with Brent Spiner.
Great way of putting it!

More people knew Burton than anyone else on the show. "Known only for 'Roots?'" That series was watched by 130-140 million people. He became something of a TV celebrity afterward, guest-starring on several other TV shows during the late '70s/early '80s, but more often than not appearing here and there as himself. Burton was considered the only real star that TNG had when it premiered.Seeing that video reminds me of one sad thing. Before TNG premiered. Wil Wheaton was probably the most well known of the cast. Burton was known only for "Roots" and Stewart was known in the US for "Dune" (a supporting part at that).

Yep, I was 10 when TNG premiered, and Burton was the only member of the cast I knew. I didn't care much about Star Trek, but I got really excited when I saw Burton's name in the credits.Burton was also famous to an entire generation of kids as the host of PBS' Reading Rainbow, which started well before TNG.
Even with the make-up being a bit softer, Data still had a little of that Michael Myers (The Shape) look about him--sued to great effect at times.
