I've decided I'm going to start over with Rising Son. I got to chapter 6, but I've been going long strings of just not really wanting to get back into it, and that is kind of worrisome. Things were getting interesting, but I'm feeling with this book the same I felt with Mission Gamma: Book 2, it's not really gripping enough. I mean we went from the end of Book 4 and the area of space changing and Jake and Opaka on Wayoun's ship back to right after Avatar and things were going kind of slow. Same thing happened with Lesser Evil, we meet a new alien race and it feels like a come down from the excitement of Twilight and Prynn and Vaughn finally starting to heal old wounds (Something that was touched upon quite well in Book 4).
I decided to restart Rising Son though because I have to remember who wrote this book, the same author who wrote the incredible Avatar, SD Perry. I am giving the book the benefit of the doubt, but I need to get back into that mood to "not put the book down" again, like what happened with Mission Gamma 4. Also, I do plan to get Unity for Christmas (Or after) so that's motivation right there.
I have heard Rising Son is a great book and I hope it is. Right now though, it's taking a while to see it.
