TNG Characters on Picard

Oh you bet he is coming back.
You don't name drop him and then mention he is still alive if you don't plan to use him. He's Chehkov's gun, literally mentioned in the first act. He'll fire by the 3rd act (or 10th as case may be)
I wonder ...
... if he got taken by the Romulans and is being held on the BORG Cube to do their bidding

I would like to see all the TNG main cast at some point. Also Q, Ro Laren, Barclay, Dr. Pulaski, Sela, Shelby, Nechayev, Jellico, Vash, and Madred.

Still have to figure out how Borg/Seven/Hugh play into all this. It's all related but not quiet clear yet.

Just a guess, but... Maybe Maddox discovered that merging a positronic network with Borg technology creates the ultimately real cybernetic humanoid. However, he is unaware that a deeply buried sleeper code in the Borg tech is meant to activate at some point to destroy humanity. Hugh and 7 know this.

I really like the idea of Ro Laren, but perhaps only if they took a new story route in S2. Michelle Forbes has done some really interesting work in intervening years and I'd love to see her slide into a new relationship with Stewart/Picard, much like Jackman/Wolverine in Logan. And the serialised/streaming format probably appeals to her more than the old skool episodic TNG format, where you could almost feel her 'I'm just standing here doing nothing but waiting to say a line!' bursting from the screen :D

Out of all the notable TNG characters Shelby would probably make the most sense just because she’s a Borg expert. Also you can make a case for Sela. Either being involved with the bad guys or being changed after Picard tried to help and being an informant against them.

I wonder if we can surmise that his relationship with Beverly followed the same course as in AGT.

I also wonder if they have totally handwaved the Irimodic Syndrome or if they have a canon explanation for how he was cured.

I don’t think they should cram in references just for the sake of it, but any time it makes sense in the story or directly relates to a main character’s emotional state it’d be great to see familiar faces. Like, how he broke up with Bev would affect Picard’s emotional state and how the Doctor was treated when synthetics were banned would affect Seven’s opinion of synthetic rights issues.

Personally, I'd love to see Q return near the end of the final season (3?).

Last scene of the series, Q gives a final gift to Picard - Q returns ........ **** (only a back shot)
I was hoping Q would appear in Ten Forward scene, resting against the bulkhead, bouncing the ball...

Ro Laren would be great in a single episode if Picard needs help from, say, a shady source. Ro could have repatriated herself back to Bajor after the Dominion War, but picked up some special (i.e. illegal) skills during her time with the Maquis.

One of the issues is that Michelle Hurd (who we haven't seen yet) seems to be have written as a Ro Laren-type shady/illegal antagonistic character. Let's see how she plays out. Might even be fun to have Picard S2 have several interesting female characters to deal with.

Fair point. Between her and Rios, that role may already be filled!

Now that we know Guinan will be back, next announcement should be that Q will be back.

:techman:

If Q turns up on PIC, I hope it's not part of the plot. Meaning, Q isn't the antagonist or anything like that. I'd be happy if he just wants to reminisce about old times. Remind Picard of the man he once was.

Q and Picard have had (to put it mildly) a rocky relationship, but I really feel that Q truly cares for Picard and even considers him a friend. I'm hoping that PIC will let them have a chance to have this play out.

Picard and Q's relationship definitely turned a corner thanks to Q's actions in both Tapestry and All Good Things...

With only 10 episodes this season, I'm happy with those that were announced so far. Hopefully we'll get many more seasons for all of them to gradually appear.

Someone pointed out on another thread that in the opening dream sequence, Data is holding all Qs..... Not so subtle foreshadowing?

I want to see Morn. But I only want to see him. He shouldn't say a damn thing...

He may not have it. Beverly found a deformity that could lead to him getting it, but it was not a sure thing. And that future was just a possible future of Q's. I think they can use it or not use it and be fine either way.
