TMP and TWOK Fan commentaries

I stand by the commentary team on the TMP costume front, watch the Omega Syndrome to see where some of Wise's inspirartion came from for the look of the film in parts.
Omega Syndrome was made in 1987.

Well, at least now we understand that the suggestion that accurate research doesn't matter is a sincere one.

I haven't the patience for insinuation or pretension.

Being the McCoy of the group(3rd banana), I agree with my partners in crime (Ensign RedShirt and stvivona). While none of us claim to be experts (and if we do it's sarcastic) on the subject of Trek, when we venture outside the Trek solitary confinement and are forced to interact out among the general population, we can represent our fanboy obsessions proudly. However, drop us in a convention or in a hard core Trek blog and we will run into some fans that make us look like civilians.

Bottom line, this as all fun. I enjoy balancing the Trek facts with a dose of humor. Keep in mind, everything that has officially been said is already out there on books, dvds, and the internet.

We will continue to try to make our shows more factual but if something slips through the crack, call us on it, but have fun with it.....we're all on the same team.

..now, if I could only find the damn spell check....

Gordon bennett... ease up there... it's fan commentary, so what, they got a few facts wrong, I doubt they were paid for it...

An...interesting...philosophy for a would-be filmmaker, but ridiculously patronizing of the people who put this together.

Back off.

Call me Mr Picky but not happy with either of these comments. Really don't like how some people on here carry a holier than thou stance, bully or collude and bully posters into their opinion, their way or the highway... or just plain taking the pi$$.

Sorry to the guy that started this thread.

Nobody was doing any such thing. The people who put this thing together are clearly fine with what was essentially fair, honest critique, so I really don't get why you're getting so bent out of shape here.

My point runs deeper than just this one thread. Have messaged the mods regarding it anyway so no doubt my post above will be removed.

My initial comment runs from an outside observation. That's all I have to say on the matter.

I can absolutely appreciate the desire to try and stick up for people who may be getting pushed around, except there really wasn't any need for that here. Honestly, while I don't doubt your intentions were noble, it seems to me that you started the whole back and forth, having misinterpreted someone else's intent.

I'm not going to comment on other threads, but it's really pretty easy to get the wrong impression of intent on the internet. And yeah, sometimes people come across far sharper than they intend. Unfortunately, that's the trouble with communicating on message boards; intent is often unclear. Also, unfortunately, some people will turn simple misunderstandings into feuds which could be easily avoided if both sides would take a step back.

We're all big kids here, and none of us need to be patronized by being "defended" from honest criticism.

DS9Sega, in particular, has been helpful to a number of us as a result of his willingness to volunteer solutions based on experience as well as very specific criticism. Most of us, for better or worse, show up here mainly looking for "attaboys," attention and encouragement. I find being addressed as if I'm capable of professional work as encouraging in and of itself.

Believe me, it's not hard as fan creators to find venues where others will just play "greenhouse" with us. I don't think we need this place to be one more.
