Title of "The Picard Show"

Picard... Love it.
Star Trek: Picard... Don't like it.

And Star Trek: Enterprise should have just stuck with Enterprise.

Any of the spinoffs, except TNG, could have dropped the "Star Trek" part. But the precedent has been set, Enterprise title change cemented it even further.

I agree that Star Trek: Picard sounds odd. Up to now "Star Trek" has been followed by name of the space ship or space station that is the setting for the series. Having the name of a person is a different thing.

But with multiple Trek shows in development they need to get more creative. "Lower Decks" is already a title that doesn't refer to a ship name. Section31 series is probably going to be called Section 31, or some title that refers to covert ops. But most of them probably keep "Star Trek" in the title. It still has good brand name recognition.

Except for the show Picard was on, The Next Generation.
And the two shows before that.

But personally I can see them sticking to the tradition of naming it after the setting, for this one at least. Probably a stationary one like a starbase or planet. That also leaves them with room to continue the show with less focus on Patrick Stewart eventually if needed.

Agreed on both counts.

I think Jean-Luc would actually be a better title than Picard, but less iconic.

But yeah, Star Trek: Picard wouldn't sit right for me, like the change to Star Trek: Enterprise never did.

I hate the Star Trek: [Ship/place name] format. It's so unimaginative I groaned out loud when they told us the name of Discovery (Star/Trek from the first teaser? Sounded like a cool total reboot!). Give me more Star Trek Into Darkness, Trek to Madworld, even The Next Generation. Picard is predicatable, but at least it's not a ship or space station.

Oh, I have some other idea about the titles.

"The Magnificent Jeanluc Picard" a kind of wild wild west theme Star Trek, where Picard, after he retired become an archeologist, and live in a far far away colony, to investigate a remnant of Human Civilization. Of course, what kind of Wild Wild West Theme if without cowboys and shooting.

"The Diplomat, another Star Trek Story". The title is self explanatory.

"Star Trek; Star Fleet Academy" Star Fleet command considered that Picard is too old to do field job. So they put him in Star Fleet Academy. To share his knowledge to younger generations. Of course, what is amazing about American Teen Drama with School as the setting, if we see only kids like in the "DS9 Valiant" who talk too much about Science Bubble". NO! We talk about Baverly Hill 90210 that merged with Bay Watch (hopefully not American Pie). With full of hot chicks, cool guys, and... Hip hop. The question is not about how Picard is good at dancing, but how he can control his cadets and make them right.

Oh, I almost forgot

"Jeanluc Picard and the Doom of Romulan". After he retired, Jeanluc Picard become an archeologist and work in Oxford University. There, he become a professor, and paid an expedition to find exotic treasures. With the help of his trusty small starship and his whip, Picard explore the strange new world, fighting NAZI, and escaping from bloody Natives (I mean, Romulan), to find the ultimate answer of the universe.

The title is probably Destiny.

If true then I called it correctly. Is Destiny is the name of the spaceship they use, or refers to whatever is happening in Picard's life, or both?
