Spoilers Titans - DC Universe Series

It was announced Season 2 will air this Fall. No dates yet, but presumably in the slot originally meant for Stargirl which got pushed to 2020, so September-ish.

I just finished watching this series. It held my interest and I will watch the second season definitely, but I really had mixed feelings about it. I don't really mind changing aspects of the characters for a television series, but the level of violence did really bother me. Additionally, it didn't make much sense. Dick violently murders and maims throughout the series but he is upset that Batman is going to do this? I am sure that there are people who say that he doesn't really kill anybody, but the intensity and violence of his attacks make this pretty unlikely. At one point he whacks several henchmen in the side of the head with a metal bar and he's not going soft.

I was really disappointed in Hawk and Dove as they are just so out of character as to not even be recognizable.

Another issue I had (and it was pretty minor I admit) is that most of the time nobody was in costume. At one point, when Kory discovers her background I thought she was going to find some new clothes but it doesn't happen. Hopefully next season.

One thing I enjoyed is that we have five of the original New Titans with a sixth established as in-universe. It would be great to see Wally arrive next season along with, hopefully, other original Titans.
I feel you. I binge watched this series and loved it. I think DCU is taking their cue from the Marvel-Netflix series, and serving up something we wouldn't find on the CW. Just remember, this is fantasy not reality. In the real world a punch has been known to kill people. And if Batman intended to kill the Joker and took deliberate action to kill him, this is premeditated murder according to the law, it doesn't matter if the Joker managed to survive. Batman still crossed the line. And any blow Robin dealt out in the real world could kill someone, so he would have crossed it too.

It seems that most of the actors I hear of getting cast in anything these past few years are Game of Thrones veterans. That show must have a really huge cast.

Well, yes. At this point, it feels like the whole British acting community has been on GoT. But in Glen's case, his is more than just a bit part on the show, he's been a recurring character since the first season.

Personally, I think Kit had a better audition:

That seems to be true of a lot of actors I've seen in other things -- Natalie Dormer, Gwendoline Christie, Charles Dance, Peter Dinklage, Jason Momoa, Lean Headey, just a ton of people.

The cast is by far the best thing about GoT.
Wow, I did not expect to actually see Bruce Wayne in person on Titans.

Wikipedia has 21 actors listed for the main cast, along with 14 actors as supporting characters.

It makes sense that they're skewing Bruce older than usual. I mean Dick has been his ward/adopted son since he was a kid, so that's like 15-20 years right there. Add to that the idea that in most incarnations, Bruce spent most of his 20's travelling the world and training, typically not even putting on the cowl until his early 30's and that one assumes he was just on his own for a while (5 years minimum, I'd say) before taking on Robin. So 'mid-to-late 50's Batman' to a 'late 20's/early 30's About-To-Be-Nightwing' makes a hell of a lot more sense than the perpetually 30's/40's Batman from the comics.

Plus it gets us one step closer to a live action Old Bruce & Terry McGinnis show and that's never a bad thing.

And then characters who have come and gone--there are probably over 100 significant roles.

Damn, that's quick. Some of the Netflix shows have taken over a year to come out on home video.
I have to wonder if they aren't making as much off of this as they hoped and selling the shows in other places quickly is the only way they can get back them money they put into them.

Now that I've 'bit the bullet' and fully signed up for DC Universe (due to Swamp Thing and Krypton), I'm trying to decide whether or not to give Titans a chance as well, so any opinions on that score would be appreciated.

^ I think Doom Patrol is even better personally but really why wouldn't you give it a chance? It's generally well regarded, watch an episode or two see what you think and go from there. You're only in for 11 eps if you decide to go the whole way.

I was a bit mixed about it, on first viewing I thought it was trying too hard to be hard (if you will) but I've been thinking of giving it a rewatch again now that I know what to expect and see if my opinion stands.

I just finished watching the first season a few minutes ago and would definitely encourage you to give it a go. Enjoyed it quite a bit.

You have the subscription anyway, so why not?

I decided to kill some time by watching featurettes about the series, and in doing so have decided to give it a chance. I just need to figure out which day of the week I want to watch it.

I know Titans got some fan criticism, but I loved the show. I loved the serious take and original spin on the characters and how they didn't try to force the team-up like was done in the Justice League movie. I personally don't fully understand the criticism. One question I have is if Krypton Season 2 will be available on DC Universe as the episodes air on Sci-fy, or if only season 1 will remain available until all the episodes have first aired on Scyfy. Any ideas?
