Spoilers Titans - DC Universe Series

Yeah, it's a little rough at first, but by the end of the first season, it started to pick up. I'm about 1/2 through Season 2, and it's one of my favorite shows now. I'm watching on HBO Max, and I'm hoping to just go right through to Season 3 once it starts.
Does their Barbara Gordon only have one leg? It looks like she does in the poster, but then in trailer I couldn't tell if she had one leg, or if she had her feet crossed.

IIRC, the actress is an amputee.

Oh, cool. Not cool that she lost her leg, but cool that they actually cast a real life amputee. I wonder if that means they'll be changing how she ended up in the wheelchair?
That's one change I don't mind since the way that happened in the comics is pretty fridgey.

Not seeing a need for a change.

They might not need to, but I could see changing how she retired as Batgirl to include the loss of her leg.
While I love the disability representation Barbara gave when she was in the wheelchair, I've never cared for how she ended up in it. Killing Joke is a great comic, but the way she was treated in it is disgusting.

Well, I'm gonna assume what ever the origin of her injury it will be at the hand of a villain and it won't be pretty.

I can't see them picking Welch for the role if they weren't intending to make her RL amputee status a part of Barbara's story.

Edited to add: I just watched the latest trailer for Season 3 and Barbara is walking/standing in it, so I think it's pretty safe to say that she's not wheelchair-confined in the TITANS universe.

No the're just getting ahead of the ball.

Black face

Straight washing.

White washing.

Gay for pay.

Using a straight white in place of a minority is a no-no.

What about the movie White Chicks?

The movie's literally about two black guys pretending to be white women.

Quite a few shows have started casting real people with disabilities in the last few years. Killjoys had a whole community of people with body modifications that were played by people with disabilities, and the show Switched at Birth had a deaf main character who went to a school for the deaf and her and pretty much all of her friends and classmates were played by deaf or hard of hearing actors.

Yeah, at this point it would only be remarkable if they cast someone who wasn't the same in IRL as their character. I don't know if she can act but she rocks that prosthesis in the pictures I've seen so more power to her.

Oh, that's right, I can't believe I forgot that, I just watched the episode a week or two ago. I

Power dynamics.

I thought the concepts for both movies were cringe worthy when they came out. Sure, there is a "lesson" to be learned in Soul Man but it was offensive. I remember back in university somebody told me to lighten up and that it was only a movie when I was bringing that point up. (Of course, I was probably being overbearing about it.)

To follow on from what I said earlier, my guess is that Earth-9's Barbara Gordon is an amputee (like Savannah Welch) who uses a wheelchair (since we've seen an image of this) but isn't permanently confined to it (hence the trailer depicting her standing/walking).
